Yeah i think we do even if it will be those in the squad not getting a game coming into the side.

It depends upon our situation in the league surely.

If we can achieve a decent run of results that the recent upturn in form promises and if it results in a safer outlook as far as our quest for survival goes then I feel that we could be ripe for a good cup run, at last.

This team is capable of rising to the occasion and excelling it's self at times, and although  I emphasise "team,"  we are packed with individuals who could shine on the day.

We could achieve a decent success rate with one off encounters and with the pressure of having to gain league points off.

It would be about time and lesser units than us have achieved success in this competition in recent times.

A decent cup run at least would be good for the club.

Luton at home please. We owe them one...and they won't be inclined to kick us off the park either.

I think the closest to me is Bristol City or Forest Green Rovers away, so I'm hoping for them.

Opps ! forgot Bristol Rovers

It's all pointless, the Suffolk Socialists have ordered the coach and the squad to not have a cup run as the boy Vince keeps telling us but NONE OF YOU EVER LISTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  😡

Wonder if the FA Cup 'disinterested' will suddenly become 'interested' if we make the quarters, semi-final or even the Final?......Clamouring for tickets I bet......

Preston away. Might be able to make that game. Both games I've been to at Preston we've lost as well. Including Neil Adams last game in charge.

Just watched a very entertaining 2nd round FA cup tie Solihull Moors v Rotherham......NCFC loanee Carlton Morris was playing for the Millers, didn't really make a huge impression and was subbed just after 54 mins.....Then on 76 mins  Rotherham came from 3-0 down to score 4 goals in 14 mins to win 3-4.....Granty Holty was a pundit.....Top Geezer 😉

'If' Preston are still toward the top end of the table when this comes round it might be 2 reserves against each other....will our 2nd XI be better than theres?!?

Sometimes you don’t have to be better in the cup... more motivated, brave and organised can beat the quality.

Seeing this draw I get the sense that the old “we’re going to concentrate on the league” expression is shortly going to be getting out of its annual early January box.

I'm 60 so grew up with the dream of an FA Cup final. I've now reached the depressing conclusion that we can't afford to risk injuries in a 3rd round tie. I watched Preston play last night. They have a 'robust' approach to the game....

No offence to Preston, but this is quite possibly the least interesting tie we could've possibly got. An away game against a team from the league below, and one we've played against several times in the last few years anyway.

I think we have to play the second string for many reasons. Firstly because they need match fitness, secondly because they'll get unhappy if they're not playing, thirdly because we can rest our key players and also because the second string may actually play with more fire in the belly and motivation because they want to force their way into the first team rather than be concerned about picking up injuries.
