......and Smith must score. 1,343 Posted November 22, 2019 So here we are at 12 games played with just 7 points from a possible 36. 40 points seems to be the accepted survival target although sometimes less than that that are needed. With 26 games to play we need 33 points from 76 to reach the magic 40. The return of Zimmermann will be a big plus. He's been built up to superhero status and I do hope we're not expecting a bit too much from him. Whatever extra he will bring to the side his team mates have got to do their bit too. I think we're finding we're a bit short of quality for the Premier League. Even with a new face or two in January survival looks a big ask.
Half Ar5ed Hipster 82 Posted November 22, 2019 In terms of 19/20 Premier League retention, not sure but overall, yes, the club will survive 🙂

keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted November 22, 2019 Unlikely but still a long way to go. If Zimmermann is back tomorrow and we see Mario and Amadou in then we should improve.

Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 3,820 Posted November 22, 2019 Probably not, but the chances of survival are far greater than the chances of promotion at the start of last season. 26 games left, and about 30 points or so added to our current total of seven would hopefully give us enough to stay up. So that's around eight wins and a few draws here and there. Difficult? Very. Impossible? No.
Big Vince 318 Posted November 22, 2019 No chance with the Socialists in charge. They are experts at relegation. You only need a quick glance at their CVs. There is not a single fan of another club in this league who would swap their owners for the Socialists. And they have yet to explain where the money is coming from to fund their £196bn renationalisation programme.

Indy 3,299 Posted November 22, 2019 Still early in the season, but nope not much chance of staying up, never really had much of a chance in reality, but hell its a great season, live football on tv meaning big money, playing against the best clubs in the world and watching our home grown and hard working players give it their best. Beating Man City might be our big highlight for this season, what a highlight, what a season and relegation shouldn’t be looked at as a disaster, but an opportunity to build on a Championship season. We go again. OTBC.

Top right hand corner of Pinkun banner at top of page , there is an icon and drop down menu for your account settings / sign in / out etc. There is  'ignored users' in the list. Click on that. Then you'll see a search box where you can put the name of the poster you want to block. As you key in the character string of their name, it quickly narrows down the users. By the time, you type in the letter "V" after Big<space>, you should find who you're looking for. You could also just wait a bit. An upturn in our form, and they won't post much anyway. Edited November 22, 2019 by makham 2
City fan 78 Posted November 22, 2019 Depends on who they get in during the transfer window. Need a couple if old school defenders to tighten the back up.
Capt. Pants 4,234 Posted November 22, 2019 We're not cut adrift yet but defeat tomorrow and the gap to 15th looks huge. We going to have to match Villa's results as s minimum going forward too.

The best we can afford or someone who fits longer term? I suppose the obvious  answer is all of the above.
HazzaJet 252 Posted November 22, 2019 At the start of the season several of my mates who all support other teams said they thought we will survival and still do. I’ve had strong doubts since the start (I always do when we win promotion) but what we must remember is that any game is winnable, we are still only 4 points adrift of safety, 8 points adrift of mid-table, and 10 points adrift of the Europa League. Though I think that if we are going to survive, we have to start making a comeback very soon. To be honest I don’t think we will survive as I can’t see us making a comeback but hopefully we will. East Rider 549 Posted November 22, 2019 from the start of the season I believed we would survive albeit concede a number of goals along the way. IF we can get Zimmermann back and IF he plays as well as we hope he can, then there is everything to play for and be positive about. Ideally we need Klose as well. I am though naturally a half a glass full type person.

My faith in Farkism and the squad's talent leads me to believe that we can turn the corner but that it is so vital that it needs to happen almost immediately. Optimistically I am hoping that the decline of the injury list and in particular the return of the Zimmer leads to an upturn in results that will see us return from the doomed status to the vulnerable status as far as Premier League survival goes. A little run of decent, point accumulating, games could change the lot.Confidence will return to the squad and pessimism will  elude the support.  A decent result today, even a draw, could be the stepping stone to a brighter future, even though that future might mean we assume the mantle of strugglers rather than doom-artists. Kanadyan Kanary 121 Posted November 23, 2019 It's going to be tough. Our defensive abilities cause the most concern and have for a number of years. Even if everyone is fit, we still ship a lot of goals.
keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted November 23, 2019 WHU getting a tanking against Spurs. They could have gone third on October 5th. We win today (yes I know) and we are only the game we lost to them behind them.
