And more importantly with any ideas on how to improve the situation going with the same formation and players time after time. Agree we are restricted to who can play but Buendia and Cantwell apparently the creative types continually give the ball away and are not improving to the standard we might expect from last season. It just looks like Farke has run out of ideas how to improve or motivate the team. He has got enough credit from last season to be able to ride this out and our financial position ensures he is safe in post. But relegation a probability unless things change and if it happens relying on another miracle season may see Farke and probably Webber finding out self funding is self delusion. Sorry but that is nonsense. If the players need motivating then that is their problem. This isn't rugby where you send people out to smash through walls. If we are making 50-50 balls 60-40 to the opponent then they should look to their own attitude. We are crying out for an experienced midfield ball winner (maybe Amadou in his correct position but feel another would also be good), another central defender (prem experience), and a more physical creative player higher up the pitch to hold on to the ball longer for Pukki. What we have got at the moment feels like a spineless team, albeit one who can go onto better things with some support in these areas. Webber really needs to work his magic in January to attract anyone to us as we will be rock bottom by then while we wait for Zimmerman. The onus really is on him now to deliver the players the team needs. If we don't put a spine back in this team 2020 will be a hard old watch but I still have faith in the club. Kenny Foggo 1,116 Posted November 3, 2019 Farke and Webber did well to get us up using little or no money (it's might not have happened if the injury to Madison had been bad). They bought players effective at Championship leve L but we had no Madison money or any other investment to strengthen weak areas. No team has stayed up with so little investment in the summer because teams are so much better, so even with out our unfortunate injuries to Zimmerman etc we were always going to be a poor side in a much better league.. It's why we will and always will come down if we continue with our current model. I would have loved to see us support a great coach more and to support our head of recruitment more. Farke is just dealing with what he has got, he doesn't create all the injuries, he doesn't control the finances, he can't suddenly turn inexperienced young players into seasoned hardnuts. He probably doesn't have much say over which players come in either. For me it's a case of staying in contention and just hope everything will click and come together eventually. I was massively frustrated we didn't get anything out of yesterday's game as whilst we were not playing well and for all Brighton's speculative attempts on goal, I didn't think they were much better than us. We just needed to create a chance or two for Pukki and who knows even at 1-0 we may have got back in the game. Edited November 3, 2019 by Capt. Are our players individually worse than say players in a highly performing Sheff United team? The answer again is no. Farke will be learning a lot and will be better informed, gain greater understanding with the experience. He won't just bail out of what has worked before. Our problems have come through a combination of terrible injuries which meant a disrupted dynamic in the team plus very challenging early season fixtures. Our two wins showed that the team can be 'on it'. Defensively, we have suffered the most with Klose and Zimmerman out in particular. Confidence is a strange thing. And our players will have to find theirs again. Farke has been backing and supporting them. The next 4 games are critical for the season. 7 points are needed (2 wins and a draw). If we have around the same points as games played by the end of first week in December then we have a chance. I suppose teams go through poor runs, then there are some teams who are just not up to standard and suffer right from the first games. Which kind of team are we? We will know by game 15. I suppose if we are simply on a poor run then I would rather face the battle now in the first quarter of the season than the last 8 games of the season when teams can go into free fall. We will see. But I trust Daniel Farke. We need to really support our players at home. This is where confidence can build. Then...at some stage we must end our away day troubles. Just check the stats though Pete. Buendia is one of the best performers not just in the Premier league but in Europe (creating chances, dribbles.... Check Between the Lines). I did tell you all - we were just giving the other teams the appropriate head start due to customary norfolk courtesy.
