Wright from Wigan for example.Could we not also make an attractive offer to Koumas as we have zero creativity in midefield currently. Etuhu, Jarrett and Hughes all being dreadful signings. percyvarco 0 Posted January 24, 2006 5 signings in 7 days........Its a great dream and a positive outlook......but do you reckon Worthy is capable of signing any of them? This season is dead, why not look at our young players, Spillane, Jarvis, Shacks etc and consolidate the Summer purchases, offer McVeigh a contract (go on Worthy - we know you don''t like him but don''t do an Edworthy to him) and build a consistant passing team for next term. But then I also don''t think Worthy has that in him either. So lets bring in a manager for the future who can look at the players we have, keep the Ashton pennies in th ebank and strengthen where he wants to instead of rushing to spend the cash this week. No names were mentioned (and they did say ''up to'') but undoubtedly Ashton was one and Green likely to be another. However, who might the others be? Speculation may be positive in losing Brennan/Charlton but could McVeigh be going through the out door? Or Safri or Hux or The Doc?I would not be averse to a small clear out who could Worthy attract, and will be still play the same old way?Yes to any of Halford, McSheffrey, Idiakez, Koumas, Fallon, Eastwood, Sodje, Riordan, Buczasky, Brown, Lawrence and any other young, fast, creative, determined, motivated player.No to Lisbie, Gray or any other hard working but dull player. I think we will be lucky to bring two in by that time ... clubs know how much we have got and will hold us ransom to our eagerness to get hold of someone. I think Jerome and Davenport alone would take nearly all the money even if they wanted to come. Don''t get your hope up too highly our you will be disappointed.
