king canary 7,578 Posted October 20, 2019 There is literally zero suggestion that he wants to nationalise football teams. He's talking about fan ownership, which by your logic would mean that Barcelona and Real Madrid are nationalised.

hogesar 9,615 Posted October 20, 2019 I get the feeling Corbyn isĀ commenting on something he knows nothing about on this one. If you're going to point at 'billionaire owners ruining football clubs', i'm not sure the best example to use is Mike Ashley....
Herman 9,711 Posted October 20, 2019 Put your political bias to one side, if you can, and ask yourselves if you can disagree in any way with this statement. āClubs are part of the social fabric that binds us together. They are too important to be left in the hands of bad owners who put their business interests ahead of everything else, marginalise supporters and even put the financial security of clubs at risk.ā āSport must be run in the interests of those who participate in it, follow it and love it, not just for the privileged and wealthy few."
Molly Windley 76 Posted October 20, 2019 If you look at club ownership through the socialist lens then it should be it`s workers not it`s consumers that have more say. Ā

keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted October 21, 2019 Has it not already been nationalised by our own local socialists?Ā I thought you would like that Vince. All that Government money pumped into buying foreign stars. Shut the academy and build a Chinese Restaurant on it.

Exactly the comments I was going to copy from the article! It's an interesting theory and also, one would think, would perhaps help protect clubs. So, those who all of a sudden get a stinking rich investor (Chinese or otherwise) who can then pull their money out as soon as they get bored, leaving the club in serious trouble in most instances, would be protected, for example. I don't think it would ever be allowed to happen, actually. Also, The Bow Group commenting on it! Lol! What a bunch of dingus brains.

Mr Angry 1,545 Posted October 21, 2019 The article mentions that government interference is prohibited under FIFA rules, although Iām not sure whether FIFA rules apply to league football, or just international governing bodies.
