Reaalllyy long winded message, but please read it.

This has been posted, by myself on questions to the club at

canaries.co.uk for anyone who''s interested to see the reply, if i get

one.

Taken from: http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=355814&CPID=10&clid=&lid=4&title=Norwich+deny+Ashton+talk

Publish ed on 21st Jan 2005.

Norwich City have denied reports the club have accepted a bid from West Ham United for Dean Ashton.

The Hammers are leading the chase for the England Under-21

international, who only moved to Carrow Road during the last January

transfer window.

Reports have claimed that West Ham have struck a deal with Norwich to sign the powerful striker for £8 million.

But the Championship club have scotched the transfer talk and are adamant that no agreement has been reached with The Hammers.

"We have not agreed a fee for Dean with West Ham for £8 million, nor

indeed accepted any other bids for any other players with any other

club," Canaries chief executive Neil Doncaster told the club''s official

website.

Norwich manager Nigel Worthington was also quick to dismiss suggestions that any of his key players could be sold.

Robert Green has been strongly linked with a switch to Portsmouth, but

Worthington revealed his phone has been cold during the transfer window.

Worthington said: "As far as phone calls and offers are concerned there

is absolutely nothing to report and that''s 100 percent true as I

speak."

So, to recap, we have had no phone calls or offers, there is nothing to

report, and that is, i quote you Mr Worthington, "100 percent true as I

speak".

This was printed on the Pinkun, I took it today:

Here is Doncaster''s chronological guide to how City''s record transfer deal came about:

¿We first received contact from West Ham on the evening of the FA Cup

game between the two sides on January 7,¿ he said. ¿Their managing

director Paul Aldridge came to see me after the game and expressed an

interest in buying Dean.

¿I told him that we had no interest in selling. Later that evening West Ham contacted us again and made a bid of £6m for Dean.

¿On Monday we declined that offer and later in the day the bid was

raised to £7m, based on a guaranteed £6m plus £1m of contingencies.

¿Negotiations then continued over the next two weeks, particularly

surrounding a sell-on percentage. At one point during that process West

Ham''s interest in the player became apparent in the media which wasn''t

helpful.

¿From that moment onwards, after Dean made it clear than he wanted to

go, all we could do was make the best of the situation we found

ourselves in - and achieve the best possible price.¿

So...there was nothing to report on the 21st, according to Worthington,

but according to Doncaster negotiations started on the 7th? Can someone

tell me which one is telling the truth? If either?

I recall this isn''t the first time that two top officials at the club

have completely constradicted eachother. Remember on 30th Nov 2005

Worthington stated that he was looking at Cameron Jerome (Ev News),

when in a corresponding Norwich Newspaper (EDP), Munby stated that the

450k capture of Dickson Etuhu was the last of the city spending!?

So who would pay for Jerome?

PADDY DAVITT

Norwich City manager Nigel Worthington yesterday gave his clearest

indication yet that he may be resigned to offloading one of his key

players during the transfer window.

Just a day after club chairman Roger Munby had indicated that the

£450,000 purchase of Dickson Etuhu from Preston had left nothing in

City''s transfer kitty, Worthington confirmed he had made an initial

inquiry for Cardiff''s £2m-rated striker Cameron Jerome.

Please City, please please please, I''ve been a season ticket holder for

a number of years and the way things have been dealt with over the last

few months has really made me question the board and manager when to be

honest I was fully, as were many city fans, behind you. I''m sure I

speak on many fans behalf that we''re a little bit confused, as shown by

the stories above. If you can shed any light on this, I''m sure it would

be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I.m afraid that the club don''t have to keep you up to date on the transfer dealings, it does not matter whether you''re confused or not they do whats best for the club. Once you understand that you have to wait and see what happens I''m sure the confusion will go away and you''ll be able to concentrate on what you can understand.

Squit, the board do what they THINK is best for the club. Not necessarily what is best for the club.

And is it totally necessary to be so goddam patronising on your posts?

Absolutely right squit they dont have to keep us up-to-date on transfer dealings. Its just a shame they have wasted NCFC''s money on a load of poor quality players and offloaded our best player.

Don''t attempt any more comedy, Squit, it doesn''t really suit you. You''re far better when you adopt your condescending manner. Practice makes perfect I suppose

Hey Steve, I can call you Steve can''t I? Cos I feel we are getting close. I''m a really funny guy, you seem to be taking all of this a bit to heart.

I felt the original post had to be treated with contempt as it was just going over some old ground that had been dealt with and it was very boring.
