Gary Hooper signs for New Zealand club.

Yeh, would make a half decent scrum half I would imagine😉

The Phoenix 😂 I'd imagine with his finishing he should be able to make an impact there as it's a league with a lot of goals scored. Six out of the 10 teams make the playoffs so always something to play for. Wellington is a nice compact city as if a little windy and lots to see in Oz and NZ.

I expected more from him.

Seemed to be injured a lot.

Didn't he pick up an injury in his first pre-season which delayed his start?

He looks like he's slimmed down a bit from that picture actually!

My cousin lives in Wellington and I desperately want to go back to NZ some day. Lovely place! Had a nice couple of meals at Midnight Espresso in Wellington back when I toured around NZ for a while.

He started 22 games that season, RVW started 16.

Hooper scored 20 goals,  RVW scored 1 over their time with us.

Don’t. You know what’ll happen.

So Hooper had about 30 percent more starts, but scored 600 percent more goals.

He actually scored 2, tap in away to Rotherham in the cup. I witnessed it, almost died of shock.

Don't blame him really, his options domestically can't have been too exciting or lucrative.

He's 31, why not go and have a couple of years banging them in and enjoying yourself. He's made his money, as long as he's been sensible with it.

Iran would have been a weird choice but NZ would be a nice place to stay after his playing career, coaching or something.

If I were Gary Hooper I'd choose that over Hibs or Sunderland which was probably the level of the offers he'd get here now with his injury record.
