Probably not helping his case with Southgate though who does seem to have some reservations regarding his attitude

Well exactly. Southgate has proven he will put talented young players in so there's no problem over that. And he's been putting JM in squads. To me it looks like he's saying to JM "You're this close, go that extra bit and show how much you want it." I don't really know how much Southgate cares about the casino thing but there is clearly something about JM that doesn't sit quite right with him and is perhaps at odds with the good guy image JM tries to project.

If you understand him, he is not a billy big b*ll*cks - just very sure of what he wants and how to get it.

I am glad you have such a deep relationship with JM that you 'understand him', what with DF sharing his innermost thoughts with you, you really are connected arent you.

I think the effort taken to understand someone, such as a football manager who often gives his thoughts on all sorts of subjects and a high profile player who has been seen in all sorts of lights both good and bad  is worth the effort.  It's not that hard to do either, you just have to open your eyes, open your mind and see what is presented.....in JM's case, a young man who is plainly not just what the media want to present him as....if you care to see beyond their agenda of stirring the pot.

The alternative is to close your mind and just jump on any bandwagon that someone creates, whether it is some lowlife tabloid or some social media sh*t stirrer.

Oh my mind is open Lakeyo,  I just believe you think you understand  JM, rather than actually  understand him. Likewise with your second  guessing  of DFs thoughts. They amuse .That is all.

Maybe all I am doing is trying to empathise with a young man who is trying to be the best football player he can be and who is also having to adapt to living with huge amounts of money and exposure to unsavoury types whose only agenda is to try and catch him out.  He will undoubtedly learn how to deal with it, but those that condemn him just on the say so of others are quite probably well wide of the mark.

Well, that makes a lot more sense than saying you ' understand' him, like some strange amateur psychologist. He's a very decent player who may yet have a top class career. For what it's worth, I couldn't care less about the casino malarkey. So no bandwagon jumping here. I'm more interested in his next move, if any,. and City's percentage of that.

Would love to see this thread had the person concerned have been Tyrone Mings.

Yes... That would have been a hoot.

Mind you, regardless of who he has played for in the past and what he's done on a football pitch, he didn't deserve the abuse he was getting in Bulgaria last night. Nor does anyone. No place for that kind of thing in society, let alone in football on the most public stage. I was completely shocked and disgusted with the images.

Back to JM... I don't really care that he was in a casino. To me it's a non-story. But I also don't really care that he played for us in the past. He did well for a season and we had to sell him. As much as he clearly still holds Norwich, Farke et al dearly in his heart I don't see this huge connection to him or feel like I must protect him on a football forum. The lad is a good player, we all know that. But he was hardly around for a long while and barely played to start with (not his fault). If he does something stupid (and he definitely did a lot of stupid things around the city) it's his fault and he should learn from it.
