Away Day Specialist 0 Posted September 8, 2003 A real rabbit out of the hat! It will be interesting to see how we fair over the next three months. So much to look forward to, especially seeing how well Huckerby did in the First division. Could he be the flair, pace and answer we have been looking for up front.A sound move by the nc staff, bring on Burnley!!!
Mr Whiz 0 Posted September 8, 2003 well done to NCFC for that one. never expected it and worthy kept quiet until he''d signed. the next three months should be brill to watch.i prefer a 4 3 3 with Crouch, Huckerby and Mcveigh up frontis there any possibility of us getting him permanently
Northern Yella 0 Posted September 8, 2003 Now we have a team that can challenge for automatic promotion, never mind the playoffs!I know that mite sound a bit stupid, but he really is that good and exactly what we have been missing! Our midfield was looking really good, now we have a strike partnership to match it!
Blainsey 2 Posted September 8, 2003 Wow!!What a coup! For the first time in ages i am actually really excited and very optimistic about our chances for this season.Huckerby and Crouch will rip defences to shreds for the next 3 months! I only hope that we can extend the loan deal all season!Any ideas on where McVeigh will slot in?
northcitycanary 0 Posted September 8, 2003 I don''t want to sound like a killjoy and I am too really excited to have got Huckerby and Crouch for 3 months, but I don''t won''t to be talking about automatic promotion or playoffs just yet. As if they do go back in December we are left in the same position as we were before they arrived with strikers who can''t score for toffee, and just at a time when we start are usual downturn after Christmas. 0 0 Posted September 8, 2003 i am delighted with the signing. Wud be even better if we could get themm both permenantly
Northern Yella 0 Posted September 8, 2003 Whilst Rivers is out I wud definitely play the diamond formation with Holt playing the holding role and McVeigh just behind the front two of Crouch and Huckerby. What you all think? I think this wud def give McVeigh the opportunity to do what Andy Reid is doing for Forest right now, his attributes I think perfectly suit this position. Also helps us to fit Mulryne in and maybe a successful counter attacking formation away from home.
Tumbleweed 106 Posted September 9, 2003 Fantastic news this- well done NW. Team starting to look really good:GreenEdworthyDruryMackayFlemingMcVeigh/BrennanFrancis/HoltMulryneRivers (when fit again)CrouchHuckerbyIts starting to look very good on paper. I still think we need to have more depth in central defence though.Shame both deals are only 3 months- we have to maximize the return on these players and get a serious points haul as there is no guarantee either will be around for the final push. But its great to see some quality coming here rather than second divison nobodies. What message does this send to Abbey and Roberts I wonder.

Gingerpele 0 Posted April 27, 2008 i think we should have bought Crouch, must have been price though
scott 0 Posted April 27, 2008 If we''d of bought Crouch for £2million at the start of the Premiership season thens its likely we''d of stayed up if he had a similar season to what he had at Southampton that year. We wanted him but we''re only prepared to pay £1.25M. Bad misjudgement - we could of got that money back by staying up and by selling him for £8M like Southampton did!
