andyc24_uk 59 Posted September 13, 2019 Time for one or two of the U23 players to step up. That's the approach DF took last season and it worked; nothing at all to lose by following it again. Realistically this match is already lost in terms of a result, I don't think even the most optimistic fan expects anything other than a heavy defeat - but the next 4-5 are games where we need to be in a position to compete. To do that we CANNOT risk any further injuries to important players in defence - so Aarons, Godfrey and Lewis, for me, need to sit this dead rubber match out. Byram and Heise can clearly come in but that leaves two holes in the center - Amadou might have to fill one of those spaces but I'd much rather see Akin Famewo or Ciaran Jones given a chance to step up than risking Lewis out of position as some are suggesting. Just dont see the purpose of gambling with Lewis - an experienced player out of position is not better than an inexperienced youngster who knows the role. The club 's ethos as I understand is the players are being taught the same way of playing throughout the age groups so they're ready to step up a level when needed. Fahrmann Byram Famewo Amadou Heise Tettey McLean Vrancic Cantwell Pukki Drmic Bench : Krul; Ciaran Jones, Buendia, Stiepermann, Srbeny, Idah, Whoever else has looked decent for the U23s... Milovanovic plays defensive midfield I think? maybe him?

KeiranShikari 1,410 Posted September 13, 2019 Krul Byram - Amadou - Lewis - Heise Tettey - Mclean Buendia - Steipermann - Buendia Pukki Godfrey to CB if he's fit with Lewis moving back to LB obviously.

Pretty good looking team given the circumstances, assuming you mean Cantwell instead of the second Buendia..... A chance for Mclean to re-establish himself, a chance for Tettey to use his experience and show us he still has the legs, a chance for Amadou to show us what he has - and the front four we know can score. Everything to play for.

kick it off 1,948 Posted September 13, 2019 Based on the injury news, I'd probably go for: Krul (If fit) ICF, Herman, Amadou, Lewis Tettey, Keelan's Grandad, Emi, Stiepi, Cantwell Pukki Subs: Fahrmann, Mad Moy, Hogesar, Idah, Van Wink, Srbeny (compulsory)
Herman 9,755 Posted September 14, 2019 I can still kick things but I wouldn't last 90 minutes. But then again neither would the Man City players.

Herman 9,755 Posted September 14, 2019 You'd probably have to help get Sterling off the roof. 😀

lake district canary 4,531 Posted September 14, 2019 We will quite likely have Tettey and Byram in the team today, both well experienced in the Premier League and could actually help us in what will be a tremendous game. Amadou is the real deal and is no shrinking violet, so should do well at CB and if you add him to to the equation at CB with hopefully Godfrey, the team looks pretty good. Krul Byram Amadou Godfrey Lewis Tettey Mclean Buendia Stiepermann Cantwell Pukki
Molly Windley 76 Posted September 14, 2019 Both U21`s and U18`s playing today (now), other than Idah I cannot see anyone missing. https://www.flashscore.co.uk/match/06kgI7qJ/#lineups;1 Ragget playing against us for Portsmouth
ZLF 274 Posted September 14, 2019 Given the back line changes having krul start brings some consistency and organisation; however if the arm is as fragile as Farke indicated - concerned at Krul ruling himself out in the warm up - then risking him in a game when he will face shots and potentially risk his arm more; resting him this week in readiness for burnley seems the sensible option. Krul Byram Amadou Godfrey Lewis Tettey Mclean Buendia Stiepermann Cantwell Pukki spot on ! Godfrey should play I think and his inj seems not serious... other 10 players seems without contest... Over all with the way we play always can be trashing from this Man City with best 11 or this 11 ... Not that bad 11 as we really missed no more than 3 players who must start if is fit.Aarons,Trybull and one of Zimbo/Klose lets hope after 2 international games and ch league come in midweek Sterling and Kun to be rested to keep the score more close
