Does seem to be am issue at set pieces...not picking players up inside or outside the box

Commentator on my stream in the Chelsea game referred to us using zonal marking at set pieces. Cant say I've noted that but might explain why we can defend them (that and having Jamal Lewis dealing with Van Dijk). Seem to remember Man City persisted with zonal marking for a while a couple of years ago until having to abandon it because it was a disaster

We’ve been zonal marking ever since Farke has been here, have you slept through every set piece?

City are becoming too predictable regardless of personnel on the pitch. Play a high back line against us, as Crawley have learnt by the 2nd half tonight, stop the full backs getting forward, and you stop Norwich! Liverpool did it, Chelsea did it, Newcastle played with a back 3 and got stuffed as a result as Aaron’s and Lewis had the run of the park, as did Heisse in the first half tonight. Neither full back has got forward this second half, little created as a result, and not going well tonight for city at all, and whilst we all want to see us attacking as we can, we are far too predictable.

Dreadful but- having supported city for many years - not remotely surprising

Deja vu to the power n. One of nature's inexplicable phenomena.

still utterly embarrassing isn't it. The cup games have been key to us in the last couple of seasons. Dont underestimate the affect it will have on us if we lose today, especially the injuries. We have missed out on another chance to give the fringe players games as well.

Instead of going on about defending, surely the fact that we haven't scored is more of a concern. We share worries about what comes after Pukki. But without watching, are we creating chances?

Perhaps the team selection was not as impressive as the earliest posters on this thread were creaming themselves about.

no Pukki no Party ...

nightmare loosing 2 centre backs on this game but if missed this man we will be doomed big time.

Too many injured players once more and with what I saw from sky this Sevilla loan player look really bad today...

I moaned when we lost to Portsmouth last season for the very same reasons but that worked out ok in the end.

The injuries are a concern but so is the lack of decent back up for Pukki.
