NavMan 0 Posted January 17, 2006 That we have to get a loan from the directors in order to pay the wages etc of a player that has only cost 50000.00. I never thought that we were in such financial turmoil. And yet there is Worthy yesterday stating that we do not have to sell in order to buy anyone. Yeah right. Goodness knows what will happen if we do not sell the season tickets next season that we have this year. And if we do not improve to a top six spot that is very much on the cards. And this from a club that is prudent.

Rossi 0 Posted January 17, 2006 The board may claim that supporters of our fine club are more informed than most. Whilst very few people are in a situation to be able to agree or disagree with that statement, it appears that the powers that be are obviously singing from two very different hymn sheets. - Dont be fooled folks, remember the ''we cant afford him speech '' that ran just before we signed both Huckerby and Ashton ? My issue is that a lack of planning from Nigel, who was "happy with the squad, and didnt feel the need to add to it " in August, has played the loan card far too often and cash has drifted away from the club needlessly in agents fees and player wages. This tranfer window has showed that there are bargains out there, just flick through any transfer in / outs for the divisions. Norwich have a history of buying youngish and hungry players and unfortunately selling them at a later date. Under Worthington we seem to buy players that are not hungry and come from clubs where they are either not playing or deemed not good enough apart from maybe one or two. macdougalls perm 0 Posted January 17, 2006 How many more times! Why on earth would the club''s management and board make the exact financial position and transfer strategy open and public knowledge? It is so obvious that in this kind of market environment total transparency would put us at a disadvantage with regards to both buying and selling. And there is no way to keep us (fans) informed without informing everybody that they are trying to deal with. It is therefore inevitable that any such information, during the transfer window, is to be taken with a pinch of salt.
Jerzy Krukowski 5 Posted January 17, 2006 you''re wasting your breath, Ranting Rankin, Rusty46, 1st Wazzock etcwon''t ever grasp the simple concept that football finances and tranfersare a game of poker and the last thing a poker player does is showtheir hand. Next thing they''ll be moaing that we''ve got a reasonableplayer for only 50K, he must be rubbish ''cos Ipswich have paid 100K forsomeone. Oh they already have. Its funny that now we have 6 central midfielders and no right midfielder!!Well hopefully we will make the play-offs, otherwise NW should shape up and ship out, taking his long ball, creativity hating style off with him. We may have a chance of keeping McVeigh if that happens. 33 goals in 29 games from a team with Huckerby and Dean Ashton!! Frikking Abysmal.
ZLF 274 Posted January 17, 2006 No we are not going to shaare all our financial secrets but it is certainly a confused message coming out of the press team at the mo!First we cant buy anyone other than Etuhu, then worthy is enquiring about multiple players costing millions, not freebies, including comments this weekend that we have cash for more players if needed. Then we make a good signing for nothing and suddenly the club is penniless again and relying on the three key directors to fund us.Undoubtedly we will not know the current position but what it does demonstrate is that the club are expert at media mainpulation and you cant trust what they tell you as being truthful. It does make you wonder where the transfer fees for Jonson, francis, Helveg & Svenson have gone (£2.5m?), associated saved wages, (signings wages covered by Bentley, Eddy, Mullers etc summer departures), the parachute payments (£6m this season) and the prem prize money (£1m) that we have to borrow (interest payable) from the directors to sign someone costing next to nothing.
