New York by way of Hong Kong and Philadelphia.

Never ever been to Norwich....supported the club non-stop for 26 years

now.  But I''ve made a promise -- if Norwich get to the playoffs,

I''m making the pilgrimage to Carrow Road.

North East Italy! Can''t complain, although the weather is not great at the moment - hardly rains, but we''re constantly covered in fog and obviously the temperature is a bit low, so feels like home. I''ve seen more games this season than when I''m in Brum so I think I''ve had my fair share - sticking to Canaries World is probably less stressful than being immersed by football back in Norfolk [:)]

I live about 30mins from Norwich in a small place called Sutton. People are more likely to have heard of somewhere called Lathams of Potter Heigham and its near there.
Were you born in the USA, nycanary? If so, how did you 1st become interested in NCFC?
stephen,

born in hong kong.  went to british schools there.  got into

football when i was, dunno...8.  it was time for me to pick a

team.  everyone in hong kong at the time was either a man utd or

liverpool fan and frankly, i didn''t want to pick a team just coz they

were really good.  coincidentally, my sister started going to uni

that year and went to UEA in norwich.  so i picked the canaries

and we promptly got relegated the same season.  brilliant.

but they came back strong the next year and got promotion after a

scintillating 2nd half to the season.  in fact, if i remember

correctly, we were languishing in mid-table around this time and then

put together an amazing run to clinch 2nd place.

i even remember the team vividly:

1.  chris woods

2.  paul haylock

3.  greg downs

4.  mick mcguire

5.  steve walford

6.  dave watson

7.  mark barham

8.  martin o''neill

9.  john deehan

10.  keith bertschin

11.  dave bennett

12.  peter mendham

long time ago....but have never given up since.  the internet has

been a god-send in terms of staying close.  i remember my art

teacher in school was a norwich fan and one day he came in clutching 50

copies of the PinkUn and he gave them to me.  i''d never even seen

one before and it was one of the happiest days of my life!!

Nice post ny, how can you be so different to old ''septic''

By the way I am debased in a nice dark part of The County.

This thread really shows the spread of our support and just reinforces my view that Norwich are a County club (based on places of origin). I wonder what percentage of home supporters actually live in the City. I would estimate about 30% tops.

Stephen,

Yep, hopefully will get to see a few games at the new stadium - Bergkamp''s testimonial in the summer? just hope they can sort the noise levels out compared to Highbury; i know its always been referred to as the library, but i was lucky enough to be sitting in the middle of the north bank vs chelsea just before xmas and ok they lost a pretty unispiring game but there was so little atmosphere even from the clock end..

On a different note does anyone else living in (north) london agree that we''ve got a brilliant reputation as a club and fans.. often bump in other fans, usually gooners and spurs in pubs and they''re (nearly) always genuinely welcoming and happy to talk footy for a pint or 2, usually ending in come on let be havin you chant!

I''m from Ormesby, that hotbed of  City supporters on the east coast! Never been to Norwich -- nah -- only joking! Season ticket holder on the top row of the Upper Barclay. Great view of the pitch, and our fine city, can''t see the score board tho''!

With rondy mentioning Ashburton Grove in one of the above posts, it reminded me of a mickey-taking corruption of that name I saw on another message board. Some card came up with: Cashburden Grave, a direct reference to Arsenal''s potential financial problems having borrowed so much money to build their new stadium. I thought this name was very clever and quite funny as well.
