Train for West Ham

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if any/many using the train on Saturday? I believe it’s around 20 minutes walk from Stratford so am thinking the 12.00 train, gets in at 1.45 should be about right. The 12.00 train is the latest direct service that will get you into the ground in time.  Has anyone done this walk? Is the much around the area to see, Olympic legacy and all that? Or better just to head to the ground?

Apparently, Westfield Stratford has the reputation of being the worst shopping centre in Europe for bag snatching and theft...... watch your wallet.

Little doubt that all trains to London will be standing room only packed with City fans and yummy mummies with teenage daughters on a shopping trip to the capital. This is usually the case on such trips as tickets are sold beyond capacity and add in the fact that Scum are at home so the stops at Diss,  Stowmarket and Scum HQ should make for an interesting trip especially if this weather lasts the week out.

No worries there- wife keeps that and she’s staying in Norwich!

And then the Inter City Firm will give you a warm welcome on arrival. Have fun!

If that’s even still a thing I wouldn’t imagine they’d even bother getting out of bed on a Saturday morning for Norwich.

If the ICF are the same guys I used to know, most are grandads approaching their pension.

As always I wear my colours, but with the hot weather, I can't cover them up. Going to the Westfield shopping centre first, hope I'll be okay.

I went to the Olympic stadium for the baseball. It was when we were in a big bottleneck of fans afterwards that I said to my mate that I wouldn’t want to be there if we get a last minute winner against West Ham. Having said that I would presume there would be a lot more security on Saturday

You would have thought that a train operator with any sort of initiative would have done a special to Stratford. I expect that they were so short sighted they did not want to pay a couple of staff to have to kill time for three hours by wandering around Westfield and having a cup of tea etc. Or alternatively arranging for more trains to briefly stop at Stratford. Mind you customer service disappeared from the UK some time ago.

I have often wondered how does a Taig end up supporting Norwich anyway?

Incredible insight there jobbo, born in Yorkshire raised in Norfolk for my formative years 4-16 yrs old, that's how come i support Norwich. if you have a problem with that then take your problem and place it between your well rounded cheeks and push, hard. Take a visit here sometime and call someone a Taig. They'll soon put some manners on you.
