SwindonCanary 455 Posted August 25, 2019 Winning at Spurs ! Shows how good we were !
Capt. Pants 4,225 Posted August 25, 2019 We played them at the right time. Interestingly is the 2nd season hoodoo about to hit Wolves? Wouldn't it be tragic having spent all that money!
KeiranShikari 1,410 Posted August 25, 2019 Spurs usually struggle against park buses until the last 10 minutes or so.
ron obvious 1,502 Posted August 25, 2019 (edited) What a dirge of a game! It makes it look like the internet's set to s-l-o-www. Edited August 25, 2019 by ron obvious
Branston Pickle 3,652 Posted August 25, 2019 Pretty average from Spuds so far, look far too pedestrian - but I guess it is pretty hot out there.
Crabbycanary3 994 Posted August 25, 2019 How is that NOT a penalty! What did Dean think Kane did, just fall over/dive?
Crabbycanary3 994 Posted August 25, 2019 and how did Moura miss that?
Capt. Pants 4,225 Posted August 25, 2019 VAR says no. So the big clubs don't get all the decisions then.
GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary 1,748 Posted August 25, 2019 Thought newcastle and palace were both certs to struggle after last weekend...amd then you see their scorelines this week
ron obvious 1,502 Posted August 25, 2019 Bu&&er! Last minute penalty to Wolves puts us down to 17th. We're doomed!
Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 3,810 Posted August 25, 2019 Newcastle were dreadful last week. We'll definitely finish above them, we said. Crystal Palace offered very little in defeat against Sheffield United last week. We'll definitely finish above them, we said. Both of them won away to 'big six' teams this weekend. We were brilliant last week and played well the week before. We'll finish comfortably in mid-table, we said. We lost yesterday and were overrun by Chelsea. It goes to show that you can never judge a team on one or two games. Every game is different and teams will always have off days and play out of their skins sometimes. So, did Newcastle and Palace just have an off day last week, or did they just have a freak performance this week?
Capt. Pants 4,225 Posted August 25, 2019 3 bonus points for Palace and Newcastle this weekend. Early days but it already looks a two horse race for the title. Whilst at the other end it's shaping up for a tight old relegation battle.
Number9 272 Posted August 25, 2019 They played 9 at the back, had 20% possession, 3 shots on goal and 3 points. Spurs couldn't break them down.

......and Smith must score. 1,341 Posted August 25, 2019 According to the in play stats Spurs had 124 dangerous attacks. Newcastle had

As Palace and Newcastle wining away at Man Utd and Spurs this is very bad news for us imo. With our approach we always will be over scored at top 6 and hardly to win much pts so this round results with villa palace Newcastle win hard games is not on our favour. We badly need point at West Ham before been demolished by Man City if not we will sitting bottom of the table just after international break.
Fuzzar 1,702 Posted August 25, 2019 We're three games in people. This isn't the time to panic.

Play our game, worry about our results and we’ll see what happens. In 3 games, we’ve proven we will score goals and can give anyone a game. Id rather we have the goal scoring side sorted out now and some work to be done on defence than the other way round.
Hairy Canary 696 Posted August 25, 2019 (edited) Totally irrelevant what the other teams do at this stage. We need to get 35 plus points or we have no chance. Let's concentrate on achieving that. Edited August 25, 2019 by Hairy Canary
lake district canary 4,531 Posted August 25, 2019 We beat Newcastle easily. Easily. Spurs struggled with them and lost. What it really shows is that we are in the mix with the rest and by no means cannon fodder or relegation merchants. It means we are totally competitive. We'll give the top six teams a good run for their money when we meet them too - they'll have to be at their best to beat us, like Chelsea were in the second half yesterday. We know we can improve too - injured players coming back and new players to come through once assimilated. It's all good and we have a very good chance to do really well this seaspon. alex_ncfc 662 Posted August 25, 2019 Why are we already talking about finishing positions in the table in late August?! There are many months of football to come and there will be many twists and turns. The media had us relegated after Liverpool, then we were suddenly safe and comfortable after Newcastle, now apparently we are in trouble again. It's 3 games.
