Chelsea - Will the heat help or hinder us?

Recommended Posts

Just wondered - it's going to be hot and sticky out there. How will that affect both Chelsea's and our high energy pressing  game.  I suspect keeping possession, game management and overall fitness will be key - plus some clever substitutions later on.

Same starters as last week? Klose on the bench.

I shall be taking on lots of extra fluids.

Drunk in charge of a football. Guilty as charged 😀

For what it's worth I hope it will favour us. Mo setting the tempo (& Vrancic) as well as Emi are great playmakers with accurate passes please. Keep Chelsea chasing around with fast movement but hold possession. I think (or hope) we're fitter too!

Shame Emi didnt make this game his big stage, but will have plenty more opportunities.

To address the OP I think we did suffer from the heat, we looked drained in the second half, and when we did have chances to hang on to the ball and take a bit of the sting out of Chelsea, we failled to do so.

We had to work so hard to keep ourselves in the game in the second half, the heat must have been a factor, the three subs also suggesting there were some very tired bodies out there.
