Standard Home and Away memberships still on sale

By increasing the number of people in the membership scheme it decreases the chance of you getting a ticket when the lottery takes place for each game.

How does it? Right now I'm a season ticket holder. If I decide to take out standard membership wouldn't that increase my chance of getting a ticket? Or am I missing something?

So you think by having say 7,000 in a scheme looking to claim 3,000 tickets for a game the chance is greater if you make that 7,001 ?

Itā€™s pretty disappointing to be honest. I am a bit surprised!

It would be greater for me rather than competing with a far larger group of season ticket holders. Why would you want to deny me that option?

Did i say i was denying you that option all i said was if it is left open ended it is merely a money making exercise by Kensell and his cohorts ? My opinion is it should have stopped before it even got started.

Why are people putting the blame on the boy Kensell?

That is precisely what the Suffolk Socialists want to achieve - let somebody else take the blame for something which they have so clearly sanctioned.

They have been getting away with this from square one. Yet people on here still fall for the deception.

There is a long list of people who have previously been hung out to dry by the SS - Doomcaster, Munby just for starters.......

I don't like the new system. I like some of the suggested systems even less because they seem to be about people wanting to get in a group of 3,000 then shutting the door.Ā

As we are now I wouldn't advise folk not to join standard membership. As I see it, and I'm happy to be corrected in these figures, these are the groups.:-

750 elite members many of which couldn't be arst to go to even half the games last season.Ā

7,000 Ā£50 memberships, which if people are to be believed, include fans who couldn't be arst to go to much more than a third of games and most nowhere near that number. And fans who have hardly been away but want to pick and choose.

The standard membership takes you out of the largest group of close to 20,000 season ticket holders. Just watch them sell like hot cakes at the first sniff of a cup run...

A leopard never changes it's spots. People who went to less than half won't suddenly go to all. The biggest danger is that people apply for games they don't want to go and then sell tickets to mates of lower priority. I will watch out for this and hope others do too.

Just out of interest I wonder what would happen if we got a really good home draw in the FA Cup, would season ticket holders be able to get their seats first as usual ?

That's true Nuttyo but the system will be tighteningĀ  over time and it wont be long before ID to back up the ST / match ticketĀ  will be required,Ā  not always checked as it would cause big delays.Ā  SimilarĀ  system was IntroducedĀ  here at gigs to stopĀ  Scalping ( touting) , the effect was that far fewerĀ  people were willingĀ  to buy scalped ticketsĀ  as refusal at the door was much more likely. Once word gets roundĀ  that its happening people are much less likely to spend on travelĀ  etc with a possibilityĀ  ofĀ  not getting in. Not good for meĀ though as my mate Tillo has offered to lend me his ST for man uĀ at homeĀ :classic_biggrin:.

What would the club charge as well FF as this Ā£30 cap only applies to Premier League games ?

When you renewĀ your ST you can tick a box called ā€œ cup option ā€œ and any home cup gameĀ is automatically added to your ST. When you Ā haveĀ paid out a considerable amount of money for years and years, good times and bad I think your entitled to one perk. As Iā€™ve been a ST holder since the early 60ā€™s I hate to think how much cash Iā€™ve paid out.

Thatā€™s fair enough, but I never tick that box andĀ still get the chance to claim my seat if I want. I presume that will be the same this season

I was talking about away memberships. Not home ones. I would have thought if all season ticket holders claimed their FA cup seats there'dĀ be nothing left for home members.

What I meant by a sniff of a cup run is that club's have to give 15% allocations. (unless they have very good reason not to) And then what if we got to the semis, or even the final?Ā

The thing I don't understand with the home membership is the lack of an elite group?

The only reason to change the scheme in the first place was for financial gain - totally unnecessary in the context of promotion and, arguably, has created a worse, rather thanĀ better scheme.
