Ashton to Charlton gossip on BBC web

Recommended Posts

i think that would be a bad deal.

If he goes to charlton i can see lisbie, Jason eull or  Johansen coming the other way. Eull (however you spell it) would be OK but has never done much, the other 2 would be dreadful. I would love to see Matt holland as part of the deal, but would still want 7 million plus as well.

Not sure about Charlton, Curbishley seems to have ruled himself out

because of the price tag while slyly suggesting we might have to lower

our asking price!

No, i''d like to put a few quid on Birmingham coming in for him. They''ve

got a real striker shortage with a crocked forsell, a misfiring

pandiani and a hardly prolific heskey. They''re depserate for a

goalscorer. If they don''t find one in january, they could be down. I

hope he doesn''t go there as i can''t stand Steve Bruce ever since his

ungracious play-off victory over us. Would love to see them relegated

and to hear him squeal!

Rangers are sending Francis Jeffers back to Charlton after they decided not to make his move permanent (BBC). Worthy was close to bringing Jeffers here before Rangers came in for him. Curbishley doesn''t want him, Worhinton likes him, Cash + Jeffers looks possible. Not sure about Jeffers - cant see him scoring 20 goals a season.
Can you explain to me why Ashton would want to go to a club in the middle of a relegation struggle?
If ashton goes to birmingham, i will run on the pitch at carrow road in the east anglian derby.
