I’m a bit frustrated by Wagners recent treatment of McCullum. I think he’s looked genuinely promising in some of his recent outings. And yet since he started to look good, Wagner has dropped him and is playing Dimi, another player out of contract this summer.

Dimi once again showed what a liability he is in defence - culpable for poor play and positioning in all 3 goals. If Sainz is banned, perhaps play him further up with Sam in his natural position.

There's definitely raw potential there, but he's not a kid any more, he's 23 now. While he has made some valuable contributions both defensively and offensively, one of my lasting and recurring images of McCallum is getting caught in possession and/or isolated up the field, and then jogging back lazily while midfielders accelerate past him. Not a good look, and probably a factor in him not getting starts (and, presumably, not being offered a new contract).

Really . Try playing CB in this team with Dimi or McCallum on one side of you and whoever gets pulled out of the hat on the other side . If he leaves this summer he will leave a big hole in our defence . Seems to be continually punished and bad mouthed for previous perceived sins . Good job Dimi , McCallum , Duffy and Hanley never made a mistake.

He's a jack of all trades, master of none. I don't think he's good enough in any position to hold down a regular place, and I'd rather have round pegs in round holes.

I wouldn't be disappointed to see him stay, but I wouldn't trigger the option if I were in Knapper's position.

My view is any senior out of contract player who isn't an automatic choice should be released so that includes Gianoullis, Gibson & Sorensen. Add to that any young player who hasn't made a match day squad. The young keepers may have done ok on loan but we have too many keepers.

Only exceptions for me is McCallum, a cheaper option at LB with time still to develop.

We have to make space on the wage bill for recruitment.

From the Chris Reeve Twitter post that's just been shared, sounds like McCallum is on his way, along with most of the others. I'd like to exercise the option of an extra year for Lungi, but other than that I'm happy for them all to leave.

Trouble is if we lose Sam & Jacob that’s two decent squad players who can do a good job at this level and need replacements! Do we have better in the youth ranks? Or are we going to get more Journeymen on free contracts to cover another years decline!

I highly doubt we'll go down that route again.

I'm guessing that we see Montoia as good enough for the backup spot, and we'll sign a new first-choice LB (just a guess, though).

As for Lungi, unless he's itching to get out of here it'd be silly to release him. Good age, good attitude, versatile and reliable. Interesting to see whether Knapper wants a specialist DM, as that was Lungi's preferred position and he's never really had a run there. Will be interesting to see whether we try to sign Pedro Lima permanently, although I think he's playing a bit further forward for the U23s.

Seem to recall reading that the loan was essentially a trial period for a young player earmarked to soften the departure of Sara. 

From what I've seen and heard, I reckon he was intended for the current Nunez position. However, given Wagners departure, there may not now be a Nunez position.

All the loans have ended now, except for Tzolis's. He's scored a hat-trick today, and Dusseldorf have got a two-legged promotion playoff to come next week. I've added Adegboyega too, although can't find any info on the length of his contract.
