NCFSC Family Fun Day - 28th July 2019

The sun may have hidden behind the clouds, but thankfully the rain stayed away which resulted in over 100 people turning up for the inaugural Norwich City Fans Social Club Family Fun Day located at the Community Sports Foundations’ superb venue, the Nest, on Sunday 28th July 2019.

A fantastic time was had by all, but especially the kids, who were treated to a multitude of activities ranging from Pool, Fifa on big TV screens, Table tennis, Table football and Giant Jenga indoors to Football Darts and a Penalty Shoot-Out competition outside.

Food was served in the marquee by two chefs from the Nest. There were tasty sausages, burgers and chicken accompanied by a varied salad selection & rolls.

The Football Darts competition saw kids of all ages compete to obtain the highest score from three shots with the top three winners getting prizes. The highest score was an amazing 147!

Shortly after this Jonny Martin, NCFC First Team Operations Manager arrived with Michael McGovern and youth players Ethan Vaughan & Josh Giurgi. Ethan and Josh thrilled young fans by joining in playing Fifa against them on the three big screen TVs.

Michael McGovern was a great sport and went in goal for an U8s and U12s penalty competition which proved exceptionally popular. He also stuck around afterwards to pose for pictures with the 2018/19 Championship Winners Trophy and signed autographs.

Tom and Alice Smith also attended the event to show their support for the Norwich City Fans Social Club, Community Sports Foundation and young fans of Norwich City Football Club.

It was a great success and everybody had a fantastic time, it was amazing to see so many happy young faces at our first event aimed at kids.

We look forward to being able to do more in the future and to remaining true to our ethos of putting on affordable and entertaining events open to everyone.

We have no membership or fees at the Norwich City Fans Social Club, as our motto says, “You don’t join, you just join in!”.
