Trent Canary 0 Posted December 22, 2005 Well Burley is off to saints, I guess we can scrub him off our list of potential targets.
lucky green trainers 0 Posted December 22, 2005 looks like money talks - rupert lowe didn''t buy bassett & wise double act or woody to get saints up - parachute money runs out 18 months, he''s plumper for burley to do the biz.obviously burley likes working for difficult chairmen. Mark .Y. 351 Posted December 23, 2005 If you weren''t already, expect them to make the play-offs now. Mark .Y.
Tumbleweed 106 Posted December 23, 2005 Burley would never have come here, he''s got blue blood running through him. And had it not worked out, the current Worthy Out thing would have been a mere ripple compared to the flak that would have flown.
A Load of Squit 5,129 Posted December 23, 2005
Soton are a good side and he is a good manager. I expect them to do very well
When we comprehensively beat them the WO''s said they were a poor side!
ZLF 271 Posted December 23, 2005 Soton were an average side who clearly became worse when the first goal went in and heads dropped.I cant see Burley having a promotion impact there this season and feel he will need the rest of teh season to know what sort of players he needs to covert them into promotion contenders. Next year will be the one he is measured on - anything this year will be a bonus. OTBC
Rudolph Hucker 0 Posted December 23, 2005 Why do we lower ourselves by fretting over something we cannot have. Burley was not given the opportunity to manage this fine club, that is his loss not ours. He has no personal investment in Norwich and like Hamilton is ingrained in The Blue Stain. I bet he was flattered to be wanted by Norwich supporters-are we that desperate. As for Worthy he should at most be given until the end of the season when if he does not acheive promotion he is gently moved out and replaced by a manager who can manage the WHOLE club and ALL of it''s playing staff and who can make proper use of the youth and reserve systems as well as making some silk purses out of sows ears through the transfer market.Worthy has acheived what he has because of above and beyond backing by the board. If he had ordinary sums to manage another club in this division he has neither the motivational skills to make ordinary players perform consistently above themselves nor developmental skills to find, nurture and promote talent.
