Midlands Yellow 3,970 Posted February 8, 2020 Excellent thread btw. A simple but good quality fish finger sandwich is undervalued especially at lunch time.

Surfer 1,547 Posted February 11, 2020 (edited) Crab over lobster for sure and Cioppino in the Italian district of San Francisco is outstanding. For fish I like almost anything but let the fish be the star, don’t bury the taste in batter or cheese or whatever else you think will cover the taste up. Rice or chips? king canary 7,599 Posted February 12, 2020 Good, juicy King Prawns are tough to beat. Also I agree, crab over lobster.

PurpleCanary 5,556 Posted February 12, 2020 When In Oz, Moreton Bay bugs. But since it hasn't had a mention yet, salmon for a summer's day. The steaks poached or steamed and left just to cool down a touch from hot, new potatoes, a green salad and/or courgettes and/or broccoli, and a cool, tangy mayonnaise-based sauce - cucumber and dill works, or dill by itself, or tarragon is good as well. Plus a few bottles of decent rosé, but not over-chilled.
keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted February 12, 2020 When In Oz, Moreton Bay bugs Was in Brisbane in the 70's and saw these on a menu and was intrigued. And with a couple of XXXX poured down the neck as well, I was pleasantly surprised.
