For our friends on TWTD

"History is more or less bunk. It's tradition. We don't want tradition. We want to live in the present, and the only history that is worth a tinker's damn is the history that we make today."

They're stuck in the past, it's what defines them, that's why they have become a footballing backwater.

No one outside Suffolk under 45 remembers them doing anything significant.

Anyone associated with them today are constantly being compared to those halcyon days,  an impossible task to replicate in todays' money driven climate.

They do have a nice new shirt though. They think it' great. It's blue w/o white sleeves this year.

(Should we tell them that's the standard Adidas template for any teams that play in League 1?)

Home shirt - almost identical to -

Away shirt - is identical to -

Anyone unlucky enough to go to The Loo is struck by the constant reference to things that happened 40 years ago. It is unhealthy. Black and white photos adjourn the walls - mainly of a cup that nobody plays for any more , or something that happened in a stadium that was demolished years ago.

The stars in the shirt was an effort to thumb their noses at us and accordingly have no relevance day to day.

In reality imagine Scumbert using this imagery to motivate the current team? It will mean nothing to these players (apart from the legendary dim Chambers) and is probably counterproductive. “Before today’s humdinger against Lincoln lads , just have a look at this photo of Mickey Mills . What a tache. If that don’t inspire ya nothing will”

Long may it continue!

And they cost $25 and $30 respectively, so they are doubling the price just to slap a badge and a couple of heat transfers on it 🤣

Adidas have done the same to Leicester and their new pink away kit. It is just an off the shelf design (that is sold for £25) with the Leicester badger on it.

Norwich kits can be a bit hit and miss, but at least with someone like Errea they are all custom designed.

I was just looking to see if ours was an off the shelf kit and stumbled on this https://www.uksoccershop.com/p-133659/2019-2020-norwich-home-concept-football-shirt.html

It seems a strange concept selling a 'concept' kit (and in my opinion a disgusting one). Also, in case anyone isn't aware, the annual clear out is happening on eBay by the official canaries store, shirts from 2017-18 are £10 or less and there's a host of other club merch available.

Very appropriate for a thread quoting Henry Ford - Mr Standardised Mass Production ("any colour you want - as long as it's black")

I think we must also be aware about history. In a couple of months or so we go again and last season will count for nothing. Enjoy it now, enjoy the mickey taking but should we struggle next season and they do well, it won't matter a damn what division you are in.
