Don't see Derby winning this let alone scoring. Both teams not showing enough quality in the final third. Villa controlling the game.

Well there you go - horrible defending from both full backs - oodles of space to exploit and then no challenge on shortest attacker on the pitch.

Congratulations to Villa and Dean Smith. He’s done a great job since arriving earlier this season. Not a great playoff final performance but Villa’s ten game winning streak was very impressive. Best of luck to Jed Steer too, and we can now look forward to Jack Grealish gracing Premier League grounds again. 😎

Congratulations also to Frank Lampard. To take a team that only finished sixth last year all the way to sixth this year is an accomplishment worthy of a manager destined for the very top.

p.s. how much do you want for Marriot? Nice to see the ex-Ipswich and ex-Peterborough players making a difference where the “big teams” loan players were failing. You should thank your assistant for insisting that they were put on.

And that as they say is all folks. It’s been a great season - roll on next year and all the fun, fear, joy and despair that it will bring!

Villa were decent to us when we won the Championship at their gaff, so all the best to them, and it looks a good six points for us next season.

Mings injured. Hope it’s serious. Filthy Cnut

Shouldn't wish people ill fortune

but in his case it's hard not to agree with you.

Surprised John Terry didn't appear in full kit to pick up the trophy!

I believe he planned to, but unfortunately he managed to leave it at one of his players’ house whilst shagging his wife

there's still a couple of European finals to see

not sure when last we had two clubs in one final - never mind two

otherwise it has been a most memorable and enjoyable season in so many ways

so lets hope both finals live up to the season

Will be interesting to see how much Villa have to spend. They started today with four loans (Abraham, El Gahzi, Mings and Tuanzebe) and brought on Hause (another loanee). With only two domestic loans in the Premiership, they'd either have to sign them (it sounded like OGS wasn't going to let Tuanzebe out next year) or find permanent replacements.
