Well done Charlton, very fine pitch invasion.

fine seems the operative word here 😛

Literally filling half the pitch. Compared to our warnings before the Blackburn game, it seems ludicrous.

Great to watch when you’re not involved. Now remembering the scrabble to get tickets for Wembley, what a day that was !

Just remembered bombing down the M11 overtaking a mini bus with two blow up dolls tied to the back, one dressed as Delia the other Stephen Fry !

Alright today we have the League 2 Playoff Final. Newport Couty v Tranmere Rovers

And the Scottish cup

We also have a charity raising on this thread and are looking for new blood to join. We make suggestions on the championship play off final like Both teams to score etc and a bet is placed on a selection of them with the winnings going to charity.

Newport v Tranmere, decent game so far. Tranmere especially playing some slick football.

Whenever I watch lower league football it always strikes me that the players tend to have roughly the same amount of skill as in the top leagues. The difference is consistency, not just game to game but moment to moment.  So where we at Championship/PL level can string 20-30 pinpoint passes together routinely a footballing team in league two is capable of that, but their moves usually break down at about 5-10 because where we can do something 9 times out of 10, they can only do it 7 or 8 times so it breaks down quicker. Very fine margins and why cup upsets often happen. All professional footballers have something in their locker, it's having the mentality to produce that level consistently that's the difference between the top and bottom level players.

Well of course, I mean you can’t turn down the chance to play for a legend like Paul Lambert and a EUAFA and FA Cup and League Title winning club could you? I’m sure Tranmere will sink back down into oblivion while L1pswich  rise like a Pheonix to new and greater glory.

What an absolute howler to give Sunderland the lead.

Back pass to the keeper went under his foot and into the net.

Good game so far and a great illustration of the consistency / concentration lapse post above from CS.

An interesting comment, the majority of the Charlton players, and their manager, are out of contract this summer. That will make for an interesting off-season, whatever the result of this game.
