Bradley Johnson winning MoM over Jack Grealish at Wembley would complete a perfect season.

Let me translate

" Derby, meanwhile, become the first team to lose the first leg of a Championship play-off semi-final at home and go on to reach the final. "

Is Actually

"Leeds, meanwhile, become the first team to Win the first leg of a Championship play-off semi-final away from home and not go on to reach the final. "

Bamford has been absolutely woeful for Leeds since their wheels came off.

His performance today was one of his worst.

Why Leeds signed him for £7m beggars belief. He was terrible on loan to us and has never pulled up enough trees for all the clubs he's played for.

Still they must be happy they've only got another three years together.....

In defence of Bamford, he was arguably the best striker in the division in 2014/15 and he was still quite young at the time. He's just gone completely backwards though.

They had a 10 point lead over Blades, who are now a Premiership Team and 9 points on Derby .... chokers doesn't begin to describe it.

Fair play to both sets of supporters who have travelled to either game

330 mile each way

This game conforming to the stereotypes of what League 1 football is all about. Can't see either one of these troubling the top half of the Championship if they go up. Luton and Barnsley a different class....

Probably why those down the road are pretty confident of a swift return.

No doubt with the extra £9m whoever goes up will strengthen their squad

The reverse being true for the paupers

Didn’t help playing with only three starters and also with only ten men for 75 minutes, but true.

at least Wembley will be spared that halfwit with that bell

though it might be a bit chaotic on the trains if Doncaster beat Charlton to meet Sunderland

both coming down on the East Coast line

hmm...dont like the way League One might be shaping up next season from the standpoint of wanting Ipswich to rot down there for many seasons to come...Sunderland a game away from getting out if it and Bolton starting on minus 12...

In all fairness, I think that you're underestimating how poor 1p5wich are, unless they can do some very good business over the summer, I can't see them being much above mid table.

You never know...but I'd fancy Sunderland to finish higher than Ipswich next season if they stay down....and if Ipswich are around 3rd , thats one automatic place gone already.

Relegated clubs are 'usually' fairly strong in league one ....see barnsley and sunderland this season...and all 3 of Rotherham , Wigan and Blackburn going straight back up the season before, so Bolton starting on -12 is a boost for any one looking to compete at the top end , even given the state theyre in

Yes , Ipswich are in a poor state now...but it wouldnt take too much to get themselves together to be up the top end, theyre certainly comparable to the likes of Barnsley,Rotherham and Wigan in being able to do so.

Bolton starting on -12 points doesn't affect their ability to beat Ipswich twice, unless you were thinking that Bolton are therefore more likely to be relegated than Ipswich... and you will have three of Portsmouth, Charlton, Sunderland and Doncaster, plus Rotherham and Burton in the division.

You may be right but I remain to be convinced, truth is 1p5wich were woeful last season and, despite all the 'noise' from Lambert, nothing has changed.

All the loans are going back, anyone any good will be sold or will have their agents looking for an out, and with their budget slashed and Evans unlikely to make up the shortfall, they're relying on their U23s and Chambers and Skuse to get them up.... not going to happen.

Ipswich going up will only mean a return to mid-table Championship mediocrity, or worse, again.

They will never have the crowds or transfer money to compete at the top end of what the parachute induced second tier has become and any youngster they do have that proves to be decent will likely be sold off to higher wage payers.

RE: an instant return, an average crowd Carrow Road of 24,500 (against 11, 000 odd season tickets sold at the 'Loo) gives an enormous financial clout in League One and makes it much easier to achieve.

Nor are they likely to find a Holt, Hoolahan or even Martin (s,) the players that prompted our own continued progression.

Lambert seems tactically spent and dated and will continue to have no Culverhouse to assist in any case.

The chances of him 'doing a Norwich' at Portman Road are as remote as it comes, imo.

Never mind, according to them they will 'enjoy next season more than Norwich fans' because they will be 'big fish in a small pond' and actually win games whilst us unfortunate Canaries will likely be beaten on a regular basis by the horrible scenario of having to entertain the likes of Manchester City, United and Liverpool etc at Carrow Road.

Oh how I do wish that we were Ipswich.

It’s been reported Lambert said it was easy to get Norwich promoted from L1 because we had a team of championship players. Will be interesting then to see how he does with what remains of Ipswich’s championship squad and whomever he can draft in for next year.
