Though looking on Instagram, he has just been on holiday in Ibiza at the same time as trybull. Coincidence?

Yes, yes it is.

I’ll only believe that if I see a picture of his WAG posted by one our resident pervs 😳

Another young signing through the door, this time a Belgian U17 left-back:

https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/norwich-city-announce-signing-of-belgian-youth-international-1-6135284

The EDP story doesn't mention this, but Craig Bellamy recently joined Anderlecht as a youth team coach, so he may have played a part in this.

From memory several years ago Bellamy scuppered a transfer we had lined up for a striker (the name escapes me but i think he played for Wales a few times) by advising them to sign for Wigan instead. Perhaps this latest move is guilt-inspired...😳

Yep! I mentioned him on another thread just the other day, funnily enough, as an example of how much better (and earlier) we conduct our transfer windows these days.

Watching ALTV today and they might be up for selling Kemar Roofe. He's only got a year left on his contract so we could get him cheap, thoughts?

Looks as though WBA have now arranged a loan deal for Krovinovic.

Can't help but think the Bilic factor played a part there.

It does look that way, but it may not be the worse ‘loss’, I would imagine he will walk into the WBA team and get the vital minutes he must need after injury, whereas I think we’re pretty well stocked in that position, and he will be very aware of that (assuming he’d be competition for Leitner, Vrancic etc who have very decent pedigree). RB, CDM, 1st team goalkeeping strength in depth is all I’m hoping for now, then I feel we are good to go.

Yes, agree with that. I feel like it would have been difficult for him to displace those guys, but I thought he was more of an attacking player? More like a potential competitor to Stiepi in the 10 position.

I don't think we can underestimate how many decent attacking players we already have at our disposal but the way Farke likes to play puts emphasis on that type of player. Creative and combative is what we like and Krovinovic would have ticked those boxes. Strength in depth and all that so while I agree we need a CDM and RB I'd also like to see an additional striker and another 10 type. Having said that, I heard a rumbling that Idah was going on pre-season with the first team and what an exciting player he has the potential to be.

Agree...I think we can highlight the CDM here...

Another 17 year old...:classic_unsure:

To be fair, this lad has started a few games in the Belgian top flight, albeit for a relegated team. However, he must have something about him as he's also been involved in the first team's pre season friendlies.

possibly...our youth team will be stacked with talent !👍...how about some additions to the first team? A 17 year old , who's played a few games in Belgium will hardly be up to the PL...I imagine...

I'm quite glad, to be honest. I don't think we needed him and I'd rather we save the money.

I do think we need another number 10. I'm not 100% sure Steipermann can be as effective as he was last season in the prem. Would like to see another quality addition made in that position to add competition. You could of course say most of the squad have a ? over their heads as whether they are going to be good enough for the prem, as its uncharted waters. Hopefully see a few further XI additions this week.

If the fee is only somewhere around £300k - £600k then it’s a bit of a bargain to be honest. He’s a quality player and would have been good back up for Buendia and challenging Stiepermann. I presume he’s going to WBA as they have promised him a more prominent role in the first team.

Norwich didn’t have anyone who could ably deputise for either last season and were luckily that neither had long term injuries. Norwich failed to win a game that Buendia didn’t play.

Someone will be needed in those positions and a cheap loan of a talented guy like Krovinovic would have been a very good solution.

Each to their own.

I think between the three central roles (DM, CM, AM) we're covered well enough with a new DM, Trybull, Tettey, Vrancic, Leitner, McLean and Stiepermann. That's seven players for three positions and I'm not sure we need to pay several hundred grand to bring in another on loan. On the wings we have Buendia, Hernandez and Roberts as frontline options and Cantwell as backup, although I'd still like to see him loaned out and another specialist winger brought in.

Had Krovinovic been a winger, I'd have said yes: a cheap option on loan to allow Cantwell to go out and play regularly would've been great. But Krovinovic the attacking midfielder? I'm not 100% we needed him, to be honest.

We've plenty of options going forward so it's going to be difficult to convince players to join us for fear of not playing; Cantwell, McLean, Buendia and Vrancic, can compete with Steipermann in the central area.  In wide areas we now have Hernandez, Roberts, Buendia and Cantwell,, even Aarons looks versatile enough to do that job.     If we went to 3 at the back then Aarons and Lewis could push on as we have plenty of centre-backs all better than what we had last time!

It's Leitner's time to shine and set our tempo... but we've got plenty of quality in the middle.

Idah as our third choice forward, we've all seen what happens when we give lads opportunity.     He's got pace and knows where the net is, also a different type of option to Pukki and Drmic.

In terms of priority, we desperately need a keeper to compete with Krul although ideally a better option, cover for right-back, then the holding midfielder (Godfrey can do that job - probably immaculately if tasked with it).

3 signings for £20m or less..... we'll be 8 points clear by Christmas... we've done it before!   OTBC...

That stat re: winning with Buendía is somewhat cherry picking things, as proven at the time (eg Blackburn away, injured in first half we won with a goal in the last few mins (as ever!)) - he had v little influence in it.

He has played as much on the wing as he has a 10. Very similar to Buendia in the sense that he was a 10, but then moved into wide. Norwich will still need someone to back up in that area and for less than a million you won’t find many options.

The stat is still factually true 😉

There is no doubt in the fact that Norwich looked much less potent going forward without him, as there is no one else who has a similar style to him in the squad.

Exactly. I'm getting a little bit jittery at the moment about the approaching deadline, I appreciate it's early July but still, can't help but feel a few options have been snatched away, well on the media surface at least. We've been used to a certain level of tenacity from Webber and co so I feel we're all expecting more rabbits out of hats but that trick can only go so far when competing with other clubs with bigger budgets. Maybe I'm slightly worrying for nothing though??

In truth we have a number of untested options at Prem level, some will cut it and others wont. I cant see Tettey offering too much this season, nor Cantwell - just my opinion. Be interesting to see whether Trybull & Leitner can be as effective in the Prem.

When is it we have to have the squad sorted?  It’s before the season starts, but can’t recall the precise date.

I’m not too concerned yet, but it only dawned on me this morning that come Friday it’s only 5 weeks until the season starts (and I’ve got my summer hol between now and then🙂).

I'd suggest you are, ol matey! Remember last season? Most of our signings came completely out of left field, we weren't even linked through the media with a lot of them.

As I said in a post a bit further up there, we definitely do need extra players in some areas. I think an attacking AM/Winger, CDM, RB and perhaps another striker (although there are rumours of Rhodes coming back). I think Drmic can play out wide though, or behind the striker so we might see him utilised in that way.

But, no, I wouldn't panic! We'll see some interesting developments I am sure. Also, as was said elsewhere, I can't remember a time when we went up to the Prem playing with such a style and with such great young players. They will need help, sure, but I'm thinking that the team will look pretty similar to what it did last season to start with! Just some additions to the squad and maybe one or two new guaranteed starters.

I'm hoping it will be pretty much the same because imo they are all capable of stepping up and tyhey deserve it.  Krul has the experience and a full competitive season behind him, the defence is full of talent and experience.   Midfield we are packed with quality and wide and up front we have good options.  With the new players to add competition for places, the team will develop as the season progresses , but at least to start with, a familiar looking team would be very welcome.

...frustrating as it might seem, its inevitable we will miss out on many of these options (if they ever were under consideration of course), purely because we do have so many good players in the midfield areas and Farke won''t guarantee anyone a place in the team, especially new players.... they rightly want to avoid upsetting the dynamic!     Agree on the rabbits from hats!

Webber has said all this is a 'free hit' at the Prem anyway..... no need for the jitters, we've enough quality already.
