A couple of transfer rumours...

Recommended Posts

Rather good potential signing, can’t see it as loan to potential move unless there’s an agreed fee for staying up. Being under 23 he’ll be worth a few quid even if he doesn’t sign anew contract at Man City.

If he stays fit could be a very good player.

I like this one, he's got bags of potential and will be up for it when he comes here. Just the type of player Farke could get a lot out of.

Would be a good loan signing. Was highly thought of at Celtic, from what I can gather.

Looks like the first rumour with some real legs.

Would be a great signing, challenges/covers any of the 3 behind Pukki and has some real class. Hopefully he is extra hungry after a disappointing last season.

Presumably a loan?

My only reservation is that , unless the rules have changed, you can only have 2 loans from other premier league clubs, is he worth using up 50% of that? Or could we do better??

Intra-Premier League loans aren’t that common. I doubt Norwich would want more than two in total. Roberts can cover a number of positions and is a good addition. Nothing to complain about with this signing.

Very happy with this one assuming it goes through... Really good player, seems to fit the 'young and talented but not quite fulfilled his potential thus far' mould that Farke is proving so adept at getting the most out of, presumably he's been scouted and found to fit in with the squad ethos and mentality; and with him coming to the end of his contract next season the potential is there for a permanent deal (Presumably he'd only be made permanent if we are still in the Premier League next season, and if that's the case then we'll have significantly more money available to us in a second season, so compensation payments wouldn't be an issue).  Brilliant signing to start off the summer with, let's get it over the line!

This would fit into the way we have been signing players, as with Leitner, Trybull and Pukki.

Players who have seemingly 'lost their way' and need that extra coaching etc to get them going again

I would suspect the long term plan would be a permanent signing if it works out, and we will need cover as although the PL has less games they will be played at a far more intensive level than the Championship.

One for the future I hope

His previous hamstring injuries are a concern, especially for a winger. Some player if he's overcome those issues though and can rekindle his early promise.

Expect the announcement soon.

I don’t think Roberts has ‘lost his way’ as many are saying. He was good in Scotland, then was just starting to get starts in Spain as was hit with a lengthy injury. It’s hard to a 22 year old to have ‘lost their way’, as they probably had never really found it...

It’s not like with Trybull and Leitner where they were out of favour at multiple clubs for multiple seasons.

I think that this could be a good signing and provide cover and competition for Emi and Onel.

I imagine that there would be significant costs associated with his wages/ loan fee? Do you have any idea BYG?

Don’t know anything concrete.

Might not be that much as Man City reportedly see Norwich a good place for Roberts to develop. One season at Norwich turned Angus Gunn into a £10m+ keeper after all.

If Man City are keen for him to come to Norwich they might charge only a very small fee.

Don’t know a lot about him if I’m honest but on paper seems like a clever signing - can play on the wings and up front (where we arguably don’t need first choice replacements but do need cover), young, no substantial transfer fee if it’s a loan signing, potentially the possibility of bringing him in permanently if it goes well (but not being lumbered with crazy high wages for three years if not).

Thanks! Good point.

I missed that John Percy was tweeting this, he was the guy that broke the Daniel Farke story (when no one had heard of him), very reliable journalist.

Warning, it’s a Suffolk Socialists setup! One year for Roberts to bed in and Man City transfer him to us in exchange for Emi Buendia plus a couple of million. And we’ll doff our caps and thank the new lords of he manor for being so kind to us.

I believe that Roberts is about to enter the last year of his contract with Man City, so if he turns out to be any good he shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg.

The highlights package suggests Farke will need to work on his right foot. Celtic fans seem pretty enthused by him.

It also means, of course, that we have a player who can’t be scarred by any thrashing that Man City might inflict on us.....

Harry Roberts could certainly shoot; any relation?

*Sorry...*

*Duncan Edwards in no way condones dreadful criminal behaviour and certainly not the murder of police officers*

Technically cute and has pace. Ideal for the premier League. Work off the ball is going to be key for any new signing and after his recent season he will have a desire to really showcase his talents. I can see a good team player here and someone not to rock the boat.

Farke wants his players to be 'greedy', I think he could be.

We do need a few starters but this would be a nice addition.

Would rather sign Julia Roberts

Julia is well past her best now. Doesn't fit the Webber/Farke 'young and hungry' template.
