Bamford has officially been charged with deception/simulation following the Villa game.  Serves him right, he’ll probably not play another game this season!

That won't help their playoff prospects! (um, or maybe it will)

Also good to see that El Ghazi's red card was rescinded.

Well that has lifted my heart........the thought he might have got away with it is appalling!

I trust they will make the right decision.

Good, and it's not simply because he is a Leeds player/knobend that I am glad he is being charged.

BBC site says its a two match ban, so he'd be back for their second leg and Wembley if they get there.

Ok for Fletcher to cheat though lol

Still can’t believe there will be no VAR in the play off final. A ref or linesman is destined to cost a team £150 million.

not necessarily. The linesman/ref had little or no effect on our play off final.

I get confused. Bamford is convicted, good job too.

But Tyrone Minger gets away with it.

Much harder to prove unfortunately Grandado. On a more contentious note, did anyone else think Mings was very good indeed v Leeds?

Didn't see the game.

I think most teams have worked out how to play Leeds (and us for that matter), defenders not leaving any space behind for them to run onto, midfielders getting back behind the ball quickly, pressing and compressing the space well.

Bamford's the lone front man and he's not particularly strong or good in the air. Mings and his centre back partner looked very strong and assured, but Leeds didn't create a lot.

I thought Gayle got a 3 game ban, but perhaps it was 2....didn’t really take that much notice as WBA not really a threat!  It is good to see these thing happening nowadays, though quite how Mings got away with his ‘incident’ is beyond any comprehension.

Yes but when we are on our game we have wonderful close ball control and can move it so quickly those tactics don't work so well.

Mings will no doubt be an a*** when we play Villa. He was very decent though against Leeds.

Has he been charged with simulating a footballer? :classic_biggrin:

No, he's been charged with impersonating a deceased Princess.

Should still be banned.

What did that ref see?

Mr Geoff Eltringham? The same as he never saw in our match.

And the Leeds argument was

"The club felt that given the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the extraordinary act of sportsmanship which saw our head coach Marcelo Bielsa demand our team to allow Aston Villa to score an uncontested equaliser, we could have a sensible discussion around the sanction".

They are really the pits, aren't they.

I've just had the lawyer for the pits on the phone, they're suing you for slander. (Or libel - whichever one covers messageboards.)

Unbelievable!  Even the club itself have the same sense of entitlement as their scummy fans. The act of sportsmanship was nullifying the goal that (... maybe) shouldn’t have been scored. It was Bamford’s act of cheating that meant Villa had to play the remainder of the game disadvantaged with 10 men.
