Never Mind The Danger

Recommended Posts

As my way of dealing with the ups and downs of this amazing promotion race I was reminding myself of our famous song and this line stands out the most for our current situation. It is a portent I'm sure. Slightly sentimental to post I know but it seems a nice philosophical counterpoint amidst the nerves.

"This other Eden, demi-paradise, this fortress built by Nature for herself against infection and the hand of war, this happy breed of men, this little world, this precious stone set in the silver sea, which serves it in the office of a wall or as a moat defensive to a house, against the envy of less happier lands.--This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this Norwich.”

The upcoming game

'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;

For he to-day that sheds his drink with me

Shall be my brother; be he not watching on sky,

To enjoin a song,  a noisy rendition :

And mental men in England now a-bed

Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,

And tug their manhoods cheap whilst they squeak

That watched with us upon this April Saturday.'

speech from Henry the 8th (local supplier of weed)
