5 mil give or take a few thousand seems a realistic amount.

On our side is that he is on a long contract, however i''m sure there are clauses in there allowing him to leave.

For a player to move one club has to want to sell, another has to want to buy AND the player has to want to move to the buying club.

If Man City or anyone else makes an unrefusable financial offer to Norwich I would expect them to sell and if Premiership football was under offer I wouldn''t resent Ashton wanting to leave.

This might be the same Man City who sold the irreplaceable Wright -Phillips for silly money and their world hasn''t exactly stopped turning.

What I do hate is Norwich frittering away money  buying inadequate players. Ashton was good money for a good player. He almost kept us in the Prem and now he is likely to make a profit in a sale. Our other players de-value like second hand cars.
