The Positive Brexit Thread

Recommended Posts

And then outside the land of the fairies

The pollster YouGov asked people how they thought the country's exit from the European Union was working out, and a whopping 53 percent said it was going badly, a rise of 15 percentage points from June, when they asked people the same question. The "badly" camp can be split into two: those who thought Brexit was going "fairly badly" (21 percent) and those who said it was going "very badly" (32 percent).

The number of people with a positive take on Brexit was down seven percentage points from June, to 18 percent — of those, 14 percent said it was going "fairly well" and just 4 percent "very well."

More people think it has had a negative, or no difference (68%). Leavers, an ever shrinking minority.

Since we have already left it is up to those who want to change the result to get a majority. You don't have a majority. You couldn't organise a majority six years ago and you still can't organise one. now. Sore losers come to mind. Twenty-seven other countries for you to choose from if you don't like it here, though somehow I don't think any of them will take you in.

So the UK hasn't actually triggered Article 16 yet they have been singled out by Biden for this treatment. Many would say this was bullying. Hopefully the UK will take this to WTO as it breaks every legal and moral rule in the book. Brits cheering on Biden should hang their heads in shame and fck off to France or somewhere.

And some may say Johnson is a lying t*** saying this would never happen. Why would anybody be cheering ? I voted for this on the basis that this would never happen, I was assured the USA would back us. Populism is fast dying.

BARNIER has been thrown out of the race to become France's next President as he failed to beat his party's counterparts in the primary.

What’s that got to do with Brexit? Is it a positive of Brexit. Please do explain mouse brain. 🐭

48% isn’t a majority either. In fact it’s less than half. Maths not your strong point?

The alternative was Trump, someone with dubious views on women and consent, someone proven to be a constant liar, someone whose Twitter account was littered with racism and xenophobia (and which he was eventually banned), someone who was impeached twice, someone who had to pay off a p0rn star, someone who had had multiple affairs and someone who incited riots that caused the loss of human life. Basically, a vile human being. Interesting that someone like this appeared to be a hero of yours. Brits that cheered on Trump should hang their heads in shame and fck off to Jupiter or somewhere.

Nothing needs doing. Within less than a year the UK is already moving back towards the EU.

Rock the Boat thinks he’s some sort of edgy, pseudo intellect, but in reality he’s thick as sh1t. So yeah, maybe he is Swindon.

Britscheering on Biden should hang their heads in shame and fck off to France or somewhere.

Maybe he should have followed the Trump way and persuaded people not to take the vaccine, now that’s something to hold your head in shame about.

RTB displays his astonishing ignorance when he claims the US delaying removing tariffs on steel, "breaks every legal and moral rule in the book". So please feel free RTB to specify exactly which law this breaks.

When the UK was in the EU, it was the fifth-largest economy in the world but was always in second place to Germany.

In its report, the OECD predicts that the economy of Brexit Britain will grow well over twice as fast as Germany this year.  Germany’s growth rate is forecast at just 2.87 percent, whereas the figure for the UK is 2.4 times higher - at 6.92 percent. Brexit success

All the children in year 1 were projected to grow faster than their teacher. Only someone incredible stupid would imagine them to thus be taller than their teacher. Now about that Barnier lie. A quote if you don't mind.

TRY TO DOWN IT, BUT IT WILL NOT WORK

Simply cut and paste the relevant passage. Highlight it. Then Ctrl+C. Go to the page on the pinkun. Then Ctrl+V. Of course if you are lying. Which all on here believe. You will claim you cannot do this. Your constant lies are easy to see through.

Why have you posted something from September that we've already discussed and noted that the Times had done a very poor job of misrepresenting what Mr Barnier had said in that speech.

Where in the text of Mr Barniers speech does he say "it was right for Britain to leave the EU"?

https://www.euractiv.com/section/politics/short_news/presidential-candidate-barnier-wants-to-limit-role-of-european-courts/

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/sep/26/michel-barnier-french-presidency-my-secret-brexit-diary-interview

Alternative sources accounting for it. He does explicitly mention removing France from being subject to the CJEU or ECHR, which, I have to say, I'm gob-smacked he's saying, but it may have simply been a case of catering to the audience rather than genuine sentiment.

He's also explicitly calling out the aspiration of ever-closer union and arguing that it threatens the possibility of more countries leaving the  by trying to go further than many countries want to go.

For Christ's sake, how many more times does someone have to explain to you the difference between the SIZE of an economy and the GROWTH RATE of an economy? Let's try to make it simple by getting you to answer this easy question: Assuming the OECD is right, which out of the German and UK economies will be the largest at the end of the year?

You do know there are plenty who just think Biden's the lesser of two evils. And until the USA - like the UK - gets its electoral house in order and radically reforms it, the lesser of two evils is all you're going to get to choose.
