The Positive Brexit Thread

Recommended Posts

You forget that Swindle is a (far) rightie - and you know their views on democracy - the burning down of the Reichstag might be a pointer

The UK legislative had to turn to the judiciary to stop the righties blocking their right to vote on legislation - and again had to fight when the right tried to block democracy by closing Parliament

Thankfully, EU democracy is prepared to fight for the democratic rights of its citizens

Any wonder the righties don't like it

Yet again you prove how economically retarded you are. Let's suppose I buy one bottle of wine for a fiver saving 13p, two bottles would save 26p, but I would now have spent a tenner. You are a first-grade numbskull.

The figure is actually 10p, and it was EU wine traders who had to fight Johnson and his government to have it removed

read the stuff from the FT I posted

I was just responding to Swindle's claim which makes no sense whatever the saving is supposed to be.

oh dear, even the simple minded Swindle finally grasps that fat boy lied to him and the rest of his fellow thickos

fat boy boasted to the thick that the deal had been agreed, it was 'oven ready' - whereas ignoring the known consequences fat boy was only concerned with getting elected PM

the EU is merely 'controlling its own borders' something I well remember pointing out on here, as did so many others elsewhere - to be met with the all too frequent sheep like bleat of the thickos "project fear....baa baa''

and like paying the £39bn divorce payment fat boy will eventually cave in - not just because he is extremely weak and gutless, but because he knows, as does even Swindle now, the UK is once again in the wrong

or as the Financial Times has it

"One can hardly blame the EU for a sense of irritation at the latest British effort to relitigate the Northern Ireland protocol of its Brexit deal. This is a mess created entirely by the prime minister. He advocated Brexit without any consideration for its consequences in the province, careless of the point that it was the common membership of the EU that made the Good Friday Agreement possible.

He then scuppered a Brexit deal that would have maintained the integrity of the UK. As prime minister he betrayed the very Unionists whose cause he had championed and negotiated a deal that left Northern Ireland in the single market for goods — leaving trade between Britain and the province subject to customs and regulatory checks. Having denied the protocol would lead to a regulatory border between Britain and Northern Ireland, he now proclaims the rules he said did not exist are in fact too onerous to be borne."

After reading that criticism, anyone with any sense of honour would resign.

He has no honour, no principles or anything resembling integrity....or a backbone either

Here he is, pssed, lying out of his ar se about there not being checks on goods. Checks he later agreed to when signing the Withdrawal Agreement. His whole adult life has been one of continuous lying - both in his personal and professional life.

Even his closest family members state that he is an habitual liar who cannot be trusted (father, brothers/sister). His adult children by his second marriage state the same, as do mistresses who he misled and made pregnant. His former Eton house master spoke of his 'gross failure of responsibility'.

He is someone who seems incapable of accepting responsibility for the consequences of his persistent lying. Even when in this case it was known what would happen - as now. An incapable of standing up to people, which is seen in his almost daily about turns, and constant changing his mind.

Basically the last election should be declared null and void as even the PM now openly admits it was sold on false pretenses.

So, now explain to us why they negotiated the original deal, described it as fantastic, and signed it. And please explain further why you continue to praise the UK government for signing a deal that they lied about and now admit is a pile of ****e.

I sometimes think of Johnson like the Pied Piper - leading the Brexity rats to their doom like the DUP.  They so want to believe the poisonous myths they've been spoon fed that they've suspended all rational thought.

More reports (Stay European in this instance) on driver shortages because of Brexit. Demonstrating again what the media won't people to believe.

"The haulage industry has been warning for months of coming food shortages caused by Brexit.

There is a shortfall of an estimated 100,000 HGV lorry drivers – most of them Europeans who decided to leave Britain over the last few years, or stopped including the UK on their cross-continental drives.

Now the gaps are starting to appear on the shelves. But the government and the media have suddenly found a new scapegoat: the 'pingdemic'!

This ridiculous word describes workplace absences caused by the NHS Covid app 'pinging' people to self-isolate after being in the proximity of an infected person.

The word "Brexit" is mostly absent from these press stories. Some more serious media do acknowledge the Brexit-caused driver shortage as a "factor" in the problem – but it's towards the bottom of the article.

Yet one look across the continent shows the lie. EU countries have the pandemic, they have apps, they have 'pings', and all the rest. But what they don't have is empty shelves! They still have the cornucopias of fruit and veg that you may have seen posted on social media.

Once again we see the reckoning for the consequences of Brexit being postponed by the pandemic. But that cannot continue forever"

If only someone could come up with an idea that removed the delays, costs and enormous amounts of paperwork involved in moving goods between the UK and the EU.

It could be an arrangement where people in the EU and the UK could move freely and quickly to where there is work, where students could benefit from access to learning, and even where UK citizens could live and retire in Europe.

No time-consuming queues at passport control, or problems and cost of taking your pets abroad - nor the huge costs of moving livestock, or even racehorses.

Musicians and entertainers would find it as easy to perform in Berlin, as Birmingham. Small, specialist manufacturers would be freed from costly customs charges. Even those selling shellfish could sell to Normandy as easily as to Northampton. Fruit would no longer be left to rot in the fields. Pubs and restaurants not having to restrict their opening times because of staff shortages, and delayed goods deliveries.

Imagine the country being free and open, rather than as now..... some closed inward looking country, daily watching businesses close and work ebbing out of the country.

Surely with the technology we now have, someone could devise a simple system that would free the country from the burden of stifling restriction and cost ?

Yes indeed, and if it had only been the DUP he doomed then we might now view him rather differently.

Unfortunately they are just the vanguard and the first ones over the cliff but eventually he is going to take us all down with him, although none of it will be his fault and he will doubtless move onto earning a fortune writing and speaking about what a fantastic Prime Minister he was!!!!!  🙄🙄🙄

A good analogy! Only in his case he has enticed them to skip merrily straight into the Irish sea where they are all now splashing about furiously before they drown.
