And as there is still no agreement over reciprocal healthcare for travellers it could be that is not just dogs who may have to go into quarantine - or pay a hefty for a temp insurance policy

Not going to be cheap for some of the pensioner bigots

Still, they tell me Margate is nice this time of the year 😆

Makes you proud to be a rightie, donit

And for a woman who constantly moans about Muslims, perhaps as a Christian she could point to where in the bible it says

Because as far as I am concerned they are fellow human beings

Fake account but this should have been his response.

Blah blah blah LABOUR, blah blah blah....

where are the deals? Will the Tories dump Boris in November and go cap in hand to the EU for an indefinite extension when the penny finally drops the country and the economy are totally fu**ed?

In a barrage of trade announcements today, the UK has launched FTA negotiations with both Australia and New Zealand. Aussie PM Scot Morrison today said that a deal could be signed and delivered by the end of the year. On top of this, Truss has announced a substantial update to the UK’s accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership – a free trade area of 11 countries including Canada, Mexico, Chile, Australia, and Japan. DIT has had a lot on its hands…

Since July 2018, the UK has now “engaged with all 11 member countries at both ministerial and official level to explore UK accession to CPTPP” with all CPTPP members having “welcomed the UK’s interest in accession.” It’s looking more and more likely that the UK will join this true global free trade area – which upon accession will have a combined GDP equal to the EU yet without Brussels’ political control. Remainers must be heartbroken in their disappointment… 🤪😀

Oh dear, Fools once again not having a clue

So who is surprised by this -

'The government's planned post-Brexit trade deal with New Zealand will have a negligible effect on the British economy and could actually make it shrink slightly and leave people worse off, according to government forecasts.'

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-trade-deal-new-zealand-economy-jacinda-ardern-a9571421.html

Or that every announcement from the government re-affirm what Remainers were pointing out over the past four years. That putting the country into a position where it has to accept the terms demanded by every little tin pot country was never going to end well.

While other countries are in local trade blocs to defend and enhance their trade, the UK has jumped over board and imagines that struggling in the water surrounded by sharks is better than the safety of the ship.

So, expect more to be admitted as the government continues its strategy of softening the blow for the dimwitted - they've been had

More ill informed nonsense

firstly if Aus/NZ were part of this ftree trade area then why would the UK want a separate deal

Look at the huge markets for the UK - Peru, Chile. Singapore, Vietnam.... yep, plenty of purchasing power there

Australia, Brunei, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.

Most are pacific rim countries which rather suggest our food exports will be very low - but we will pay heavily to sell our food to the EU

The CPTPP does not include services, which are around 80% of the UK economy

It has a Commission that runs things. However unlike the EU there is no parliament and commissioners are not elected.

Others will also note that the real big players - China, India, US, Brazil and almost everyone else of any size are not involved. All those will require long, protracted negotiations before any deals are concluded

However without being part of the EU the UK will pretty much have to accept what is offered.

It is not going to look pretty - and as to Japan the EU has just set up a deal with Japan that is better than what the UK would get through CTCPP

TPP was an agreement brokered by President Obama, that the Republicans refused to endorse in the Senate, and President Trump killed. So you can shove your "lefty remainiacs" comment where the sun don't shine. The US saw TPP as a bulwark against China, tying the US, Canadian and Mexican economies to Asia, so that China wouldn't come to dominate the western Pacific countries.

As the US pulled out, you now only have the western Pacific nations left in a shell of a deal.

Watch out Swindo - Jools is trying to out lie you

There is no TTP...... that fell apart years ago

The CptPP is not a 'deal' but an agreement - something you cannot have with a continent, or a region

The USA walked away from the original idea of TTP

There are less than 500m customers in the CPTPP. most whom are on a 3rd world standard of living

so you were OK up to the word 'yep' 😂

Barking Mad. 🙂

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-tory-mp-bob-stewart-dog-pet-passport-france-channel-a9569231.html

A Brexiteer Tory MP has urged the government to let his dogs keep their freedom of movement rights after Britain leaves the EU.

Bob Stewart, the MP for Beckenham, said his "French-speaking" hounds crossed the Channel regularly on their EU "pet passports".

Millions of Britons are set to lose the ability to live and work freely on the continent at the end of the year as a result of the UK's departure from the bloc.

The naughty old EU up to it's old tricks again - wanting both sides to stick to the agreement that made, In this case

'The Political Declaration contains various commitments concerning open and fair competition, in particular non-regression requirements by reference to the position at the end of the transition period, in the areas of competition, State aid, employment standards, environment, climate change and tax. These provisions are designed to avoid the UK achieving a competitive advantage through the relaxation of public law and regulatory requirements.'

""Our consent is conditional on the UK government's adherence to its own commitments. The UK must respect the political declaration and ensure the full implementation of the withdrawal agreement. "

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-uk-eu-trade-deal-standards-boris-johnson-a9571846.html

The clear message here is that Johnson is now trying to weasel his way out of what he agreed before the election - the idea that he could claim a deal had been agreed, so as to up his chances of winning the election.

Nothing the EU is asking is not what was agreed last autumn. I can only imagine the howls from the righties were it to be the other way round, and it was the EU trying to welsh on the agreement

ps if it wasn't bad enough the EU cutting roaming charges, chasing off shore tax evasion it is now arguing with the UK about the UK keeping food protection ie protect regional food, so China cannot make pasties and claim they are from Cornwall, which is what the brexiteers want. They are also bringing in laws that will make online sellers responsible for faulty goods, No prizes which country has objected to that.

No wonder the free market brexiteers want out of the fussy, busybodying EU. Why should consumers want to know how safe the food or goods are ? If eating dodgy food is good enough for the Chines and the bloated yanks, then why not the UK. And if you buy a chicken from the supermarket who wants to know where it came from or what it was fed on - it will be 50p cheaper, as will Chinese made 'Melton Mowbray' pork pie.

Because if the UK does leave the EU that will be allowed - and you won't know it is from China.

Brings a whole new meaning to hot dog..... yum yum

TPP, CPTPP,  it's a Trans-Pacific Partnership and it's a Trans-Pacific Partnership that Trumpski has stated his interest in rejoining...

It's also a partnership that won't cost us £400 million a week, allow freedom of movement, allow anyone to legislate and have control of the UK legal system or dictate terms on whom we trade with.

Get it through your thick skull that non EU trade is now the majority of our trade, Billock 🙃

Oh dear, your are quite thick aren't you ?

Non EU trade has always been the major part of our trade - it'd just that through the EU we get the best trade deals - ones that the absurd CPTPP will not be able to match. However trying to trade through it will mean the UK will be trading via WTO rules - which are quite a bit more draconian than what we have now

The TTP never got off the ground so stop bleating about something that does not exist

Perhaps if you were not so thick you would actually read up first before posting - so as to stop yourself looking so silly and getting so angry

THE UK does not pay the EU £20bn a year

Trump is finished, so what he wants is irrelevant

They are right. Trade deals with 30 million people 10 thousand miles away will certainly replace trade deals with 500 million 27 miles away. Their genius knows no bounds.

You’ve returned just in time Jools, Swindon has been trying to explain how we’re going to be able to identify the chlorinated chicken and beef filled with hormones that the US are trying to sell us when they don’t want the food to be labelled with country of origin, and also how we’re going to stop foreigners who own more than 50% of our fishing quotas from fishing in our waters.

Sadly he hasn’t got a clue-can you do any better?
