Spare a thought for the St Ives constituency. The bad weather and low tides means they may not be able to collect the 1600 or so votes from the Scilly Isles

Do they vote for the Silly party or the Very Silly party?

I'm old enough to remember when they were in public hands. They were run for the benefit of those who worked in them and not the customer.

That’s why you need good regulation and performance standards. But I agree 100% with your view, I remember what it was like as well, if we go back in that direction it has to be efficiently managed.

The Scilly Isles are populated by 3000 maniacs clinging to rocks. They probably vote An Gof

lets hope the tide stays out.

Do the Puffins get a vote.

Or is that Lundy?

Unfortunately there is no "time out" provision for delaying elections. Even if she is fired (she won't be) the damage from her "reporting" is done, and the election results stand.

It's how the Republicans have cemented power here in the US. Successful tactics coming your way, better "get over it" or better still, design counter measures to it.

I think she may have done. Although she hasn't given any numbers or other stats she has said something that could influence voting.

For sure, there's a whole new thread there - 'When did the UK last have a sensible government'

Of course, like the Brexiteers that's very backward looking but I don't think there would be any point in starting a 'When will the UK next have a sensible government' because there isn't going to be one, certainly not in the foreseeable future. I think if people are imagining that once Brexit is done (whenever that is - a decade would be my guess) that our politics are going to go back to 'normal' then they are in for a great disappointment.

Much has been changed and broken in the last few years and what we've seen over the last few weeks is the new normal. After tomorrow things will continue to get worse, and almost certainly the decline will accelerate even further.

Still they say every cloud has a silver lining and the smart money all seems to be on the pound getting a short term boost if the Tories win. So in a way a Tory win, although a disaster for the country, is a bit of a double bubble win for me personally - confirms the need for me to get a shuffle on and get across the channel pretty damn quick (my personal getting Brexit done😀) but also gives a brief window to buy Euros at a better rate - will still be rubbish really but hopefully slightly better than anything on offer since the referendum pound devaluation kicked in.

At the risk of being accused of hyperbolic I do fear for this country's health, whether economically, politically or mentally if the Johnson/Cummings/Leave style government gets a foothold. They seem to want to break everything and start again in their own image, and what a dreadful image it is.

This "Get Brexit Done" mantra has turned a lot of our fellow citizens into unthinking automatons, willing to let bad people take over so long as they get what they want, even though they are not that sure what it is they want now anyway.

Brexit is, has and will rot everything it touches.

What a complete load of tripe you talk.

You can't escape the nationalist upsurge, it's everywhere.

Marine le pen not only beating macron in the first round polls but now for the 1st time in the 2nd.

Brexit is just the start

The times ,they are a changing!! 😁😁😁

Don't worry @Bagster, I'm not intending to escape to anywhere near you so there is no danger of you having to listen to my tripe.

Thankfully, there is also no chance of me having to listen to the total b*llocks that you talk either.
