If you were really a football fan or doing as your leader said and following England you would not have been on a Brexit discussion board.

If only they made batteries and cars the government may have cared about them. 😀

Out! How Brexit sent one UK tennis kit firm to Romania

A company specialising in children’s sports clothing has relocated to avoid the costs and bureaucracy caused by leaving the EU

“We are now relocated in Europe,” the company tells them. “Sadly, due to Brexit and UK lockdown restrictions, we had to leave England to allow our business to survive and grow.”

Yes you damn buffoon that's MY POINT! You posted a quote attached to my name that I never said, that you purposely made up. I asked you to remove it several times and you have refused to do so. You have left me no option other than to demonstrate to you the sort of consequence of your behaviour. This is  the result if you don't follow the most fundamental requirement (honesty) that makes debate possible. I find it hard to believe I have had to do this to demonstrate the consequences of your egregious behaviour. So, do the decent thing and remove the post in which you have purposely made up a quote and put it in my name, then I will happily remove the above post.

You have to forgive poor tweety, he's only doing as he is told to by Delta Johnson and his Norfolk branch of systemastic wreckers and self servers, nothing to do with him.... Should the authorities look at his computer and check whether it is him who has been using ransomware to hack US businesses?  who knows what else he has been up to online.

Swindo is a wind up merchant who votes for the Conservatives and does as he is told. He also rides the highest horse here to look down on us, turn black into white, truth into lies, and his very own brain farts into wind. Wowsie wow!

Another small point, by faking comments and asigning them to others, he brings the Pink Un's blog here into disrepute, something the Mods might want to look at.the mods

But if everyone ignores the lies he spouts and doesn’t react he’ll have no platform, it’s only because some still react that he’s on this board. I’ve not seen a single contribution by him on the football threads, that’s a good thing though.

But I’m with you he should have been banned with his anti European comments regarding the WW monuments and graves of all brave servicemen and then trying to claim some far out lie about financing the Canadian pilots bench in Swindon when the news article on it proved otherwise! Horrid little bigot along with a few other who have been blocked by myself…..its far better on here when you do block them.

Swindow and his sister?

I adopt a different strategy Indy. I attempt a kind of surrealist response. Also I only ever post rarely as I don't wish to join in. Yet I do enjoy learning from other posters who post news. If there was some serious alternative view by way of balance I enjoy this too (Fen for example and a couple of others). At least then you can debate.

I think surrealism is congruent with the kind of responses given to questions put to SC. They are rarely ever answered and often replies are tin-eared. Hence my recent 'flat earth' cartoon just above. I would almost expect the poster to tell me the earth is flat and wouldn't hear any other view to the contrary apart from occasionally posting some evidence to purport it is flat but actually the evidence produced hints at a globe!

This Country is a very good programme, subtle, under-rated. We've been watching the series on catch up.

If you make it harder to work here then they'll decide it's not worth the hassle and stay away. You see, they don't need us more than we need them.

Why is there a shortage of lorry drivers?

He says there is an issue with recruitment, with many European drivers having "gone back home" due to Brexit.

Indeed there are around 70,000 drivers registered to drive in the U.K., but most of them are European and gone home and have no intention of coming back.

It just repeats Nigel’s lie that the work is being taken from the British, yet you now state that Brits won’t work for low wages, so basically it was a lie to get votes.

Not at all. Some of our problems have arisen from the Vote Leave government's chronic mishandling of the covid disaster.

Vote Leave and die. Literally.

No one would release AI that was so buggy and unfit for purpose, even in Beta.

why blame Brexit for everything when it is the Conservatives who led the country down the hill for 11 years? Start with the Hospital in Kings Lynn that had to shore up its roof for years to carry on doing its vital work, because the local/national promises did not match the affluent effluent emitting from their teeth, whilst ministers mates made billions.

I for one thank Corbyn for coming here and supporting our opposition to the 70 million/mile environmental crime being committed with the western link, his support for the NHS. He had breakfast at the market, not in some posh hotel or party club.

I thought one of the reasons to vote Brexit would be that some of the migrant workers would go home, leaving jobs for British workers, that would force wages up for those living here? So we're just partway through the cycle, as demand to fill the positions increases wages will rise and with furlough winding down people will fill the vacancies. The situation at the moment isn't representative of the endgame as furlough is just encouraging many to stay at home.

Perhaps you should stick to the football threads instead of posting this naive simplistic "analysis" that has been proven false by decades of economic reality.  Try reading the interview with the farmer LOS posted above, he's paying well above minimum wage (£11 and hour) and still he can't recruit anywhere near enough staff. Further, staff on furlough already have jobs, that's why they qualify for furlough in the first place. You are clearly paying no attention at all to the warnings of farmers, hauliers, or the hospitality industry et al who are all desperate to fill vacancies and failing to do so.

Perhaps you ought to mention that to the Government then, since we are 50,000 nurses short, and also short almost the same number of doctors, and yet the government is offering them a 1% pay rise which with inflation running at over 2% is actually a 1% pay cut.

Firstly, the link clearly states that he pays an average of £11 an hour based on productivity, not that he pays a flat £11 per hour. Secondly, like I said, furlough is still in effect. I'm not sure why you'd expect people currently being paid to be sat at home to volunteer to go out and do a fairly physical and demanding job instead. When furlough gets pulled back, there will be an influx in people that need to find work and the vacancies will even out. Oh sure, there probably will be a longer-term shortage of labour but given that people have been complaining about a surplus of labour pushing down wages for years it's just evening out.

No point arguing with pro-Brexit supporters, their mind is made up. Reality will hit them full in the face soon enough. The only option is to vote the "Tory traitors" out of power by convincing those who can vote, to vote.

Oh I totally agree, the government's offer of a 1% pay increase is an absolute joke. A bad one at that. As the billions they managed to give away to their mates during the early pandemic scandals has proved, they can find the money for stuff the really want, it's time they rewarded those brave workers on the front line that have basically worked 18 months in one of the most stressful situations imaginable.

The main problem with allowing free movement of people/labour from  low achieving economies to  higher achieving economies (and I assume we all know what we mean by that) is that as soon as it happens the talent from the former automatically moves to a country where it can be most rewarded.

For example: When Roumania joined the EU such a great proportion of it's low paid doctors moved to the more lucrative pastures of northern Europe that it created a shortage of doctors in a country with an already sub-standard level of health care.

The brain drain was not just confined to the medical profession, and for Roumania consider others.

Then Covid hit necessitating the so-called recovery plan. Those same countries that had benefitted from the cream of the the poorer states then baulked at having to contribute towards this (ie. helping out the states they had raped of quality,)  that it eventually  evolved as a grant/loan of such billions that even the Central European bank got nervous with regards returns.

We might have our own **** show, but at least we are no longer involved in that on-going farce.
