BREXIT WIN: US LIFTS TARIFFS ON UK SCOTCH, MACHINERY, CHEESE, AND PORK

The US has suspended its UK tariffs as of today on goods from scotch whiskies, machinery, cashmere, and yes – cheese and pork. The suspension will last for four months, during which time the sides will negotiate a long term solution to the US-EU Boeing Airbus dispute. This is exclusively a US-UK deal, US tariffs remain on EU goods…

Trade Secretary Liz Truss took a risk by unilaterally lifting UK tariffs to the US – which opposition parties heavily criticised her for – now the move has paid off. Guido understands that it was only as a consequence of good faith lifting UK tariffs that the US came to the negotiating table and lifted theirs too. Meanwhile the EU has sat on their hands and tariffs still apply to them…

Clearly this sort of deal would be impossible as a member of the EU, trapped behind its common external tariff and sluggish commissioners. Read the Brexit-enabled UK-US joint statement here…

More BS from the utterly discredited Guido sh*ite-site. So the US has maintained tariffs on the sale of scotch whiskey from the EU has it? Do remind us which countries in the EU manufacture scotch, I seem to have forgotten.

Truss in complete desperation crumbled and unilaterally lifted tariffs on US goods for the sake of a temporary lifting of US tariffs on a few of our products. If you think falling onto our backs to let the US tickle our tummy is a great advance for our trading status then you truly are an idiot. Go and pre-heat your oven ready for the lovely chlorinated chicken and hormone marinated beef that will be heading your way soon. The EU and single market has the financial and numerical clout not to give in to US bullying, Truss is ever-so-grateful for whatever sub-standard crumbs they care to toss us. It's sad to see our country obsequiously descend to this level of desperation.

Britain dropped tariffs on some U.S. products indefinitely in January in a bid to reduce trade tensions. The former Trump administration did not reciprocate the U.K.’s concession.

Well, well, well! Brussels signs off on blocking a shipment of 250,000 life-saving AstraZeneca vaccines headed for Australia and seizes the supplies for themselves. We thought you didn't like our vaccine?

Sadly we all know the answer to that one. So taxpayers have to cough up so she can get away with bullying staff. What a fine government we have.

Christ! No doubt that's to make sure he keeps his mouth shut about the details of her notoriously dispicable behaviour.

Aye, the vile EU is happy to block contractual agreements and risk hundreds of thousands of lives 😲

And the hypocritical Remainiacs are likely okay with that.

Thicko! back again I see. The referrendum is old news, I'm concerned about the thousands of businesses going bust because of the catastrophically sh*ite brexit deal. Just a shame that bigoted ars*holes like you couldn't give a damn about the destruction you have visited on these people. You have nothing to offer apart from xenophobia and racism.

The EU had a contractual agreement for 80m vaccines with AZ back in August, which they paid for upfront in full. AZ failed to honour that contract. And wasn't it you among the other RWNJ screaming that we shouldn't share any of our supplies, your hypocrisy is vomit inducing.

Businesses are going bust because of Covid lockdowns, Coco.. 🤡 We are in a much better place than those in the EU to rebuild 👍

It would be good if you played a part in Britain's revival instead of whining on here 24/7 -- Get a job and pay taxes, ffs.

Oh dear thicko! perhaps you should stop downloading QAnonce pages and read the thousands of tweets and messages from companies lambasting the brexit deal. And isn't it time for you to inspect those chicken-hut cage nursing home rooms you claim to run? Off you trot you nasty little racist.

What is it you're trying to achieve by constantly calling people who disagree with your politics racist?

In 2019, the then US president, Donald Trump, imposed a 25% tariff on a range of European Union exports, as part of a 16-year trade dispute over state support for aerospace rivals Boeing and Airbus.

As I am currently working in the industry I can tell you we are having a booming early spring, but this has little to us leaving the EU and simply because garden centres are one of the only things open where people can go and spend their money. We will have to see what happens once other shops are open, travel is allowed etc.
