There are no "scallop wars". The Uk negotiated at great length an agreement for trade and cooperation with the EU. The UK wanted to be free of EU regulation, and this agreement ensures that. It was ratified in Parliament. The agreement left the UK free to diverge from EU standards and implemented border controls, taking back control.

All the EU is doing is implementing the agreement.

The UK cannot do the same because the country is a shambles.

They knew it was going to happen.

So have we actually had anything positive yet from Brexit?

Many things but the main one is that a democratic vote to leave has been implemented despite opposition from every quarter with vested interests.  Other countries that also want to leave may not get the opportunity to leave as the EU is hell-bent on destroying their sovereignty, so another plus is that we did it just in time.

His aim is to rip off gullible fools like you to fill his own pockets. Take a look at his vomit inducing adverts that pretend he isn't working in financial services for his own profiteering motives. Once a spiv, always a spiv, and a very ugly one at that.

As Roger Daltry famously points out, bands used to tour the continent before we joined the common market. We are back to that same situation. Only covid stopping you taking your guitar to Hamburg tomorrow, Herman.

It's the Roger Daltrey who was prevented from touring in Holland with his band, The Who, in 1966 due to a lack of Work Permits

Though this isn't really about The Who, they are big enough to look after themselves. Its the smaller artists who will suffer more

It seems that even the top UK bands, the real top, top bands who are No. 1 in the UK are going to find things more difficult

I put my name on waiting list of sorts for that album. That explains why I haven't heard back from the record shop.

Perhaps all the brexit supporters on this site would like to make a substantial monthly donation to all the companies faced with these crippling costs. Or maybe they could volunteer a couple of days free labour a week to help fill out the forms.

Don't any of you realize that the EU are being  deliberately awkward ? I think there's no way you need that much paperwork (save the planet) They don't want Brexit to be a success and they are trying every trick to hinder it. We should start doing it to their imports.

Don't you realise that this is the deal the government negotiated, the deal they wanted, the deal you voted for and the deal that passed through Parliament. Once the priority was taking back control of the UK's borders rather than free trade this is the inevitable outcome. The UK rejected the required steps to mitigate this problem, so the EU is applying the standard WTO/3rd country arrangements that the extreme Brexwits wanted.

You won, you got what you voted for, now own it.

Swindo is a little simple bless him, I thought these Brexiteers said that the EU need our goods and we wouldn’t suffer, now they complain that the EU is being deliberately awkward!

Nope it’s what Brexit was always about divorce from a massive market which was worth 43% of our export without any checks or paperwork issues, now we’re treated in the same brackets as those outside this lovely big market and we have adhere to the regulations as all the others! Nothing to do with being awkward, but up to our government to negotiate a better trade deal on movement of goods, which in turn will probably come with more caveats......

Funny how those brexiteers are only now seeing the full effect only after two months which those of us involved in trading with EU saw coming years ago!
We are not members of the EU and we need to accept that they have standards which as a third country we knew would hit us, it’s sad that our narrow minded government with their Brexit advisers we’re so focused on getting out rather than sorting out a decent agreement!

We told you so many times that leaving the single market would massively increase red tape; that inevitably happens when you have trading between two different markets that consequently have to protect their individual regimes. When that happens with the market you do 50% of your business with the disruption and costs concerned are inevitably immense. You were warned that this would be a catastrophically stupid thing to inflict upon the business world. You were stupid enough to believe the government's lies; stop whining and take responsibility for the utterly foolish brexit that you and your fellow buffoons have landed us with.

This paperwork could easily be removed, if we rejoined the Single Market & Customs Union

Another positive of Brexit as road freight to the EU from Eire via UK stalls and we get less pollution and traffic chaos , from the Express🤗:

""Nearly two months after Great Britain (GB) left the EU single market and customs union, the volume of freight being shipped across the Irish Sea from the Republic of Ireland to GB is still down significantly, the BBC reports

Companies trying to avoid red tape and potential delays associated with Brexit are sending freight on much longer sea routes directly to the continent, rather than using the traditional 'land bridge' route across Britain.

The number of weekly ferry crossings from Irish ports to France has risen sharply, with more likely to be added. ""

I know what I wanted to say more succinctly.

The vaccine programme is a governemt policy success.

Its not however a success of the governemt Brexit policy.

It is  a success that we would not have had the opportunity to achieve without Brexit as we would have joined the failed EU collective policy.  Other EU countries are now realising how ridiculous centralisation is as the EU is sclerotic with red tape. We already knew that so voted to leave.

A trade war, what a splendid idea! Just what UK business is clamouring for (especially when they have a market population of 448 million and the UK has one of 66 million). Guess it doesn't take a economist to work out how that's likely to go.

HaHaHa! Didn't you once claim to be an economist? So your advice is to intentionally go bust by not trading with the overwhelmingly largest trading partner we have. You're a total buffoon and fraud.

Of course they do and it makes them very happy as they want the UK to suffer to enable them to feel a misleading and perverse short-term satisfaction that they were right in wanting to remain tied to the EU mafia.   What we have to do now is to make the EU suffer in return and the appointment of Frosty is a good start.   The EU are causing a trade war and will be worse off as we find other markets and cease to buy their goods.

Just one example of shooting themselves in both feet !!  😂
