Here you go Gumby Gammon, even your beloved Telegraph knows the truth, it's the disastrous Brexit deal that isĀ to blame:

The Telegraph

Hauliers say exports to European Union are down 68pc since Brexit

A survey of internationalĀ hauliersĀ has found the volume of exports travelling from British ports to the EU fell 68 per cent last month compared to the same period last year.

The research by the Road Haulage Association (RHA) prompted it to write to Cabinet Minister Michael Gove to call for assistance, particularly with increasing the number of customs agents from 10,000 to 50,0000 to help firms with extra post-Brexit paperwork.

Chief executive Richard Burnett told The Observer that the RHA had also found 65-75 per cent of vehicles arriving from the EU were returning to the bloc empty due to a lack of goods, hold-ups in the UK and because British companies had halted exports to the continent.

Mr Burnett said he found it "deeply frustrating and annoying that ministers have chosen not to listen to the industry and experts", who have consistently called for greater consultation by Government.

He said Mr Gove had not responded in writing "pretty much every time we have written over the last six months".

"He tends to get officials to start working on things. But the responses are a complete waste of time because they don't listen to what the issues were that we raised in the first place," Mr Burnett said.

The Government offered a six-month grace period following Brexit, allowing the suspension of the full range of physical checks on imports until July.

On Thursday, former Tory chancellor Lord Lamont warned red tape linked to the Brexit deal had rendered most business between Britain and Northern Ireland uneconomic.

Two weeks earlier, the RHA said a 12-month grace period and urgent financial aid were needed to iron out problems with the post-Brexit Irish Sea trade border.

I wonder why we haven't seen the predicted massive queues of Lorries at the ports?....Ā  Brexidiots!!!

Here you go, you massiveĀ šŸ””šŸ”š:

Ā

EU TRADE ALREADY BACK TO 90%Ā šŸ‘

Ā

Despite hysterical claims from some left-wing newspapers that EU exports had dropped by 68% in January, Dover Ports have announced that trade has already bounced back to 90% of volumes typical for this time of year.Ā And that is despite the requirement for hauliers to have a negative Covid test.

In reality, the 68% drop in January was a combination of Covid restrictions, cautious stockpiling before the 31stĀ in case of No Deal, and learning new systems. The further from January 1stĀ things have moved, the more trade flows have been returning to normal.Ā A statement from Dover Port todayĀ announced that:

ā€œA month on since the end of the Brexit transition period, the Port of Dover is pleased to already be welcoming over 90% of the freight traffic volumes typical of this time of year following the significant stockpiling experienced before Christmas.ā€

ā€œThe message to hauliers is that as long as you come to Kent border ready and with a negative COVID test, then it wonā€™t be long before you are on your way to France on the shortest ferry crossing.ā€

Guido is sure the Guardian will inform its readers with a new good news splash tomorrow morningā€¦

How many times do you need telling that the head of the vaccine task force and the head of the MHRA have both said that our approval and roll out of vaccines has nothing to do with Brexit. Everything we did was completely within EU regulations. Are you seriously suggesting we should believe you and not them? FFS try finding something else positive to say that isn't so obviously proven false by the very people responsible.

You start with a false premis as many have pointed out.

However, to labour the point what we did was within EU rules and competence hence your argument is simply null and voided byĀ the actual evidence of our actions under EU law as we were until 1/1/21.

Your argument is simply Brexiteer wishful thinking and fantasy.

Nothing like a bit of local knowledge lol, that was in November, hereā€™s the real story.Ā

BMWā€™s decision to focus production of its electric powertrains in Germany and shun the UK has been labelled ā€˜a great shameā€™.

In the same week the government announced a ban of petrol and diesel cars in the UK from 2030, BMW handed production of its V8 and V12 engines to its Hams Hall factory in Birmingham and said its electric powertrains would be built in Germany.

Economics academic and automotive expert Prof David Bailey expressed his disappointment at the decision.

He said:Ā ā€˜The low carbon future growth technology is all in Germany. Hams Hall is stuck with old technology, which is on the way out.

do you not believe that, if not explainĀ

Yawn. Please read any of the threads above on this. Our decision to go the way we did was not contingent on being in or out of the EU. Try to grasp that simple fact.

Its a bit like Ipswich can if they likeĀ sack Lambert without having to drop into league 2 first.

I know. Sad isn't it that Jools is reduced to these misdirections.Ā

We could not obtain the vaccine by our selfĀ if still in the EUĀ Ā

Oh dear. Please read the first few lines. If we'd ofĀ stayed in, been a full member we still didn't need to agree to this if we didn't wish too. Indeed we could of persuaded the EU to go a different route, multiple routes or none at all whatever.Ā

In short you inverting cause and effect.

We acted in accordance with EU rules and were indeed vaccinating someĀ of our citizens before Christmas with Pfizer whilstĀ still operatingĀ fully under EU regulations. Others couldĀ have doneĀ the same. They choose to go all in together and we didn't. Strange how we weren't forced too isn't it when still operating under EU regs?

You know we could so why lie ?

Its quite concerning that you are calling Kate Bingham a liar and yet more concerning that you are accusing the MHRA of being underhanded, something we should be celebrating, instead you are accusing them of not knowing what they are doing.

How do you fancy a tasty wager proceeds to Covax that what you are saying about our strategy could only happen if we were not in the EU, is tosh ?, there is a difference between what individual countries did and what they were allowed to do. Germany has just done a deal to get enough Pfizer vaccine for almost every EU citizen but for their own use.

Once available, proven safe and effective, and authorised at EU level,Ā all Member States will have access to COVID-19 vaccines at the same time and the distribution will be done on a per capita basis to ensure fair access.

Jesus! That's because they each FREELY decide to join the common purchasing scheme. NOT ONE of those 27 countries was obliged to. EACH one of them had the option to do this entirely on their own if they wished. How do you not undertand these very simple points that have been repeated to you ad infinitum?

This is the ā€œPositiveĀ Brexitā€ thread isnā€™t it?Ā

Haha! sure is, but positive in the sense that one might get a positive test result for a medical condition.
