Yep, that you won't post a lie on here for ten years

that link you posted, has

  • Brexit will reduce average UK living standards in the long-run because higher trade barriers with the EU will increase import costs and reduce export opportunities for UK firms.
  • Staying in the EU’s single market would be the least costly form of Brexit, while leaving to trade on World Trade Organization terms would be the most costly option from an economic perspective.
  • Firms will find it harder to trade with the EU after Brexit primarily because they will face higher non-tariff trade barriers, such as customs checks at the border and the need to meet different regulatory standards in the UK and the EU. Consequently, a free trade agreement with the EU that focussed on tariff reduction would do relatively little to mitigate the costs of Brexit.
  • The UK will not be able to counteract the costs of Brexit by striking new trade deals with the rest of the world. The EU is the UK’s most important trade partner and the EU’s single market goes further than conventional free trade agreements in reducing trade barriers.any thoughts ?

The EU27 made over £½ TRILLION net, trading with the UK in the last 10 years

Latest figures show again that it’s no wonder they call us “Treasure Island”

A stark report from the Brexit Facts4EU.Org team

Brexit Facts4EU.Org has analysed the international trade position for the UK over the last 10 years, using the latest figures for imports and exports of goods and services – with the EU and with the Rest of the World.

Our research shows that the EU27 have made over half a trillion pounds (£539.2 billion) in the last decade, from trading goods and services with the United Kingdom.

Conversely, when it comes to the United Kingdom’s trade with the Rest of the World, the UK’s surplus totalled over a quarter of a trillion pounds (£285.7 billion) in the last decade.

The UK’s deficit with the EU is 18 times worse than it was 10 years ago. The UK’s surplus with the rest of the world has grown by 150 times from where it was 10 years ago.

Brexit Facts4EU.Org Summary

The simple, stark facts of how the EU27 have profited from the UK in the last 10 years

1. Cumulative trade deficit (goods and services) with the EU, 2010-2019

  • UK’s deficit with the EU - (negative) £539.2 BILLION
  • Cumulative deficit with the EU is 18 times worse than it was 10 years ago
  • UK’s surplus with the rest of the world was (positive) £285.7 BILLION
  • Cumulative surplus with the rest of the world is 150 times better than it was 10 years ago

2. Annual trade deficit with the EU / annual trade surplus with the rest of the world

  • Last year (2019), the UK’s trade deficit with the EU was (negative) £71.6 billion
  • It has more than doubled from where it was in 2010 – 10 years ago
  • Last year the UK’s trade surplus with non-EU countries was (positive) £47.7 billion
  • This has grown dramatically from a small deficit in 2010, 10 years ago

Observations

Sometimes it is sufficient to let some very basic - and very stark – facts speak for themselves.

Thanks largely to our majority pro-Remain media, large swathes of the British electorate are still not aware of fundamental facts such as those we have shown so dramatically above. No-one can predict the future – as the COVID crisis has shown – and we feel it continues to be important to ram home messages like this.

We hope our politician readers will find our bald facts above to be useful in soundbites, as they have many times in the past.

Who to believe? An associate professor, Department of Economics at the LSE or some unnamed bloke on a dodgy website posted by someone with a habit of lying?

What underpins Jools latest pile of nonsense is the delusion that those importing from the EU are not able to purchase the same goods outside of the EU at a cheaper price

Surely if UK consumers purchased their BMWs Audis, Mercs and VWs from a country outside of the EU it would be better for the trade balance. Could not our wines, beer, milk dairy products and other foodstuffs be purchased cheaper from Japan ?

Or maybe, UK importers source their goods from around the world as determined by various requirements. And as an EU member they are able to do so under the most favourable terms possible - with a huge number of countries.

All that is being offered by brexit is the opportunity for sections of UK business to cut standards, wages, protection both work and environment under the delusion that they will be able to undercut the EU and elsewhere.

However the EU has stated that the UK going down this route will put them outside of the Single Market ie increasing the trade deficit that jools bleats about.

And who can blame the EU, as the UK will be able to import US chicken and beef only fit for brexiteers and repackage it to sell on to the EU.

And as if to re-affirm the ignorance behind this there is the logo..... GoWTO. Which does not explain why only one, yes one other, country trades under WTO rules. Mauritius.

Jools comedy web sites are nearly as good at using graphs as Donald Trump. 😀

I believe most of the world trades with the EU on WTO terms. Do Israel, Singapore, India, Hong Kong and the U.S. really look like they are suffering as a result ?

https://fullfact.org/europe/who-trades-eu-under-wto-rules/

This is where the above quote comes from.

Here's the conclusion.

Conclusion

Incorrect. Of 135 non-EU full members of the World Trade Organisation, 58 currently trade with the EU under negotiated trade terms, and another 47 have preferential access to EU markets.

YOU'RE AN IDIOT.

YOU'RE AN IDIOT.

That's £100 you owe, as barely a day in you have lied

The only country trading on WTO is Mauritius, so stop lying

That's the same website that told us that -

The UK can only trade with the EU via the Euro tunnel when the tide is out

Not all German wine is authentic, as much is harvested with French built equipment

The EU rules mean the UK will have to drive on the right *

In 2022 UK flat caps will need to be replaced by EU standard berets

EU MEPs have a daily Champagne allowance of five bottles each

* the bit about it being when on EU mainland was left out

How can that be a lie ? It was a belief

Just checking to see you accept it was not true

now how about checking other stuff before you post, as the fact that only one country is stuck with WTO rules has been posted on here umpteen times, and is pretty regular fare in the media

Here is Andrew Neil explaining to the Brexit dimwit James Delingpole the reality of his idiocy

something I have also done on here, with the same level of laughing at these brexit thickos

ie trading WTO almost puts the UK in a straitjacket as they try to stop a free for all by the rest of the world

the below should be 'mandatory' viewing for those who still bleat nonsense about WTO

listen carefully to the words of AN

I did not write that they were trading only on WTO I believe It's partly how they do trade

Jeez. you really are thick

either a country has a trade deal with another, or not

if not then they trade through the WTO which are extremely limiting

that’s why countries are part of trading blocs and have separate trade deals

and that's why brexit is such stupidity, as it puts the UK outside of everything

now stop spouting sh yte
