says the man who claims to live in Aylsham but didn't even know the A11 was dual carriageway - perhaps that 'heart attack' at Stansted airport had caused memory loss 😉

But feel free to post up where I have lied Hairy Crank - an actual quote, not any of your made up stuff about about being a senior NHS manager, or taking part in the Uruguay Gatt talks, or voting in the referendum while living in France.

Maybe Len could help😂

Am I supposed to be Hairy Crank? I've never claimed any of those things!

I expect the viewing figures will be low. Its not like people are waiting to be persuaded.

They're going to miss out on Magic Grandpa's announcement of nationalising Mr. Whippy.

investing for the future, not divesting for the present day gain of a few

You know Bill this is what the entire political “argument” is, or should be about. Forget Brexit, or immigration or medical access or climate change,  those issues are just symptoms of this root cause and won’t get fixed unless this war is won. It needs some wordsmithing on “divesting” to make the point clearer, but “for the exclusive gain of the few” Is a great shorthand for all the policies of the UK Tory and the US Republican parties.

If you want to know what our ...(Labour/SNP/Liberal/Democrat)

Precisely.

We've seen so much stripped from public ownership to enrich a few, whilst simpletons have convinced themselves the nonsense they have been fed justifies this theft.

In business most things now HAVE to be done on-line i.e tax, VAT (yes the dreaded MTD) and so on. So I'm of the opinion that a core national BB should be available to everyone.

Now to be a little devious - I think we are rapidly approaching, nay passed the point when VOTING should also be done on-line only same as most banking. No 'postal votes'  needed (and if you can't use a simple PC with appropriate options for the disabled then one does have to question today your competence to vote). Some no doubt don't have PCs or phones - but local libraries do etc.

Online voting would be the easiest thing in the world to hack. The Russians and Chinese would have a field day. Which is why you have to turn up in person

Johnson's crime policy today is basically stuff we can already do if the police and court system hadn't been shredded by swingeing cuts. Well done tory voters. 🤣

For the record, and sorry to disappoint Carole and the rest of the conspiracy theorists, the leak of the direct messages which reveals Guido’s editor arranging to pay £10,000 in cash to Arron Banks (N.B. Carole pay to, not get paid by) was hardly secret. It was paid after losing a bet, made in front of half of SW1’s finest at a Spectator party, that Trump would not become president in 2016. It was a painful night, as he lost the same bet with Nigel Farage.

Banks had arranged to have lunch to collect his winnings and he forgot. Which was irritating. The leaked DMs go as follows:

PS “Where we having lunch?”

AB “Hi there , I’m free most of Feb after the Washington trip .. Hertford Street!”

PS “You forgot to put today in the diary didn’t you? Have a wedge of £50s here…”

AB “What’s today!”

PS “The day you said we would have lunch.”

AB “Sorry then I’ve ****ed up.”

PS “If you don’t want the £10k that’s fine with me….”

AB “I’ll check diary and let’s agree a day in Feb . I’m in the office tomorrow . Next week by the way is going to be Huge! Some interesting stuff going on in Washington”

When Banks later claimed publicly that the bet was unpaid it led to a testy exchange…

PS “As you well know I have had your £10,000 sitting in the bloody safe for months. Really resent your implication.”

AB “Believe it or I’m busy . Andy has tried repeatedly to get in touch – he will come and collect the cash .”

PS “He has my number and not called. Send him round. You should point out on Twitter that you ****ed up, not me.”

Andy Wigmore eventually picked up the winnings in April 2017 and rubbed it in a little. As the characteristically accurate tweet above, hidden in plain sight, demonstrated. No roubles were involved, Carole…

The situation for other publications currently going through hacked DMs – of which their journalists were neither the sender or the recipient – is more complicated. There is no public interest defence for the hacking. There is no evidence of crimes – apart from the act of hacking. There is a lot of stuff that is embarrassing for politicians and journalists. Am looking at you, Ms Hyde…

In scenes that can only remind you of May’s 2017 campaign, the Lib Dems’ campaign designed entirely around Jo Swinson is sinking like the titanic as voters slowly realise they don’t actually like her  😢  😀

EJuH-IjX0AAbqOu.jpg?resize=540,408&ssl=1

It took a while for the public (and Guido) to notice the Lib Dum leader, but as the campaign has rolled on a majority of voters now do have an opinion on her – an unfavourable one. This may also help explain the Lib Dum’s polling fall from 18% at the start of the campaign to 15% today.

For comparison, the most recent trackers see Boris on +2%, Corbyn on -43%  and Swinson on -23%  So don’t be sad Jo, things could always get worse…  😄

Not a lot has happened whilst I've been away, except Boris has increased his lead :classic_biggrin:

CON 40 (36-44)
LAB 29 (25-33)
LD 15 (11-19)
BRX 7 (3-11)
SNP 3 --*
GRN 3 (0-7)
UKIP 0 (0-4)
PC 0 --*
TIGfC 0

Labour are remarkably stable at around 28%-30% which suggests the tribal vote is still intact despite the Marxist take over of the party.

I know it shouldn't be a shock but I'm still surprised by the pure cynicism of CCHQ rebranding as 'fact check uk' on twitter for the debate. Brazenly dishonest.

Jeez it's dull, don't think I'll vote for either of them. Rag'n'Bone Man has his glasses on the wonk and Bojo spuffling away like a good'un. Very poor if this is the best this country has to offer.
