Icecream Snow 761 Posted April 10, 2019 Cantwell makes the starting eleven.
Orly 277 Posted April 10, 2019 Big call by Farke and big chance for Todd. Am a little surprised, but Farke clearly doesn't want to change the system.
unique 434 Posted April 10, 2019 I would have been more surprised if it wasn’t Cantwell.
Yellow Fever 3,749 Posted April 10, 2019 No problems with this but I hope we have the creativity in the side if Reading park the bus. Cantwell knows what is expected and I'm sure will be at 200%.
Tetteys Jig 830 Posted April 10, 2019 big vote of confidence for Cantwell. The ability is there, just hope the composure is if the moment arrives.
Icecream Snow 761 Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) I think he's looking for Todd's running and energy. I was going to go into it too much in the other threads, but I can remember going to watch this game in 2011, when we ended up drawing with bottom of the table Preston (though would have been different if Wes hadn't missed the penalty). That day Phil Brown got ten men behind the ball, closed the space and pressed our guys really well. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/9410559.stm Hoping for a win, and hoping for a shambolic Reading 😛 Edited April 10, 2019 by Icecream Snow
Chip20 69 Posted April 10, 2019 I fancy a goal for Cantwell tonight. The stage is set...
Van wink 2,994 Posted April 10, 2019 Farke's stewardship has been characterised by placing faith in young players.

keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted April 10, 2019 I expected it as well. It keeps the shape much better and I think DF is happy enough with the Tom & Kenny duo in the middle.
Christoph Stiepermann 1,131 Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) Cantwell will be desperate to impress tonight. After playing pretty well in his last run in the team he would've been extremely frustrated to sit on the sidelines for so long so I'm expecting him to run through brick walls and chase everything down. Whether he can match Emi's contribution in the final third remains to be seen but this change shouldn't hurt the structure of the team. Farke quite rightly prefers continuity and this is the change that upsets the balance of the team the least, but there's no denying Emi is a massive loss so I'm hoping for big performances from Hernandez and Stiepermann tonight as one thing Cantwell is very good at is intelligently creating space for others to work in. keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted April 10, 2019 Lets hop no-one expects him to be Emi. As long as he plays well should be enough

Canary Wundaboy 1,358 Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) We look a bit static, but Reading are sitting very deep so difficult for us to really run at them. Edited April 10, 2019 by Canary Wundaboy

Canary Wundaboy 1,358 Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) Todd isn't exactly impressing... Hernandez has only turned it on going away from goal. We are missing the penetration that Buendia provides. Edited April 10, 2019 by Canary Wundaboy
