tonight's football

In other news, what a great job Bruce has done at Weds - 2-0 up tonight and looking like this season's 'late run for the play-offs' team.

A lot of teams up their game when they play us.

But don't bother with Leeds! 🤭

I'm sure WACCOE posters were saying when Leeds are in town, it's a Cup Final for the home team!

Preston down to 10 - silly challenge, should have let Bamford go through and shoot, he couldn't hit a barn door.

Tempted fate

Considering his technical ability only, Bamford would fit in very well with our system - more so than when he joined us a couple of years ago.

Cliche ALERT: Question marks over his attitude though. Cliche ALERT ALL CLEAR.

Curse my excellent footballing knowledge.

Just kidding, I just pick names off the teamsheet at random.

Terrific shot that. Can't say Leeds are not worth the lead. Preston not up to meeting the sheer pressure much though it hurts me to say that

Switched off now. The pictures of their knuckle-draggers celebrating is too much.

If I want to want to see Neanderthals, I'll watch the History Channel.

Peter Grant used to do that.

Leeds losing or drawing was not by any means a neccesiity just a nice to have bonus.

In the overall scheme of things it changes nothing as far as we are concerned

Agree GJL. Still think Leeds are a better team than Sheff U.

And we are a better team than either.

Natural justice will hopefully prevail. As Farke said, we need 4 wins.

Rudd is looking good again - there wasn't much he could do with the goal.

Almost De Gea-esque

Given the goal difference which, I suspect will increase tomorrow, 3 wins and a draw would do - assuming Leeds beat Weds and Villa that is.

And I still stand by Sheff Utd beating Leeds as that now puts Leeds 5 points behind with a game in hand.....and Sheff Utd look the most likely to falter over the next six games.

Beat Reading and Wigan which is not unlikely and Leeds cannot afford to even draw against Weds as that would mean us needing just one win from the last 4 games.

...thats no given....I'd hope leeds or sheff utd will drop points to lessen that requirement

I'd like to think we'll beat Reading ...and Wigan and Blackburn

The other one might be a bit more difficult....I would have hoped Sheff Weds would on the beach when we play them, doesnt look the case now....Villa away,if they still need something would be awful if we still needed something...and the other game is an always awkward Brittania Stadium

an urban myth, as the following weeks will show

and whatever the case, we both have to play Weds so their supposed lack of commitment affects both us and Leeds

Wigan's away form is horrendous but they've only lost 4 at home, Reading are improved, so are Sheffield, Villa doubly so.

Feeling confident for wins v Stoke and Blackburn but is 90 points enough? who knows...

Sense the gap is going to close over the next few games, really hope we can seal the deal before Villa.

Just hoping for the home win tomorrow and back to 8 points difference to second and then hope 10 points difference to third (think SU will struggle at Birmingham). That changes the dynamics again and simply keeps a lot of pressure on the two chasers.

I hope you're right about this Bill (but hope you're more right about Brexit)

Stoke have had two sent off tonight, dont know how many games they will miss though

1 for 2 yellows

Martins Indi straight Red but doesn't sound like violent conduct so likely just a 1 match suspension

When Preston played us they looked like world beaters, they play these no mark tin pot teams and don’t bother turning up. Raised their game in their cup final against us.
