Bill 1,788 Posted March 21, 2019 back in the Victorian times mothers would often dip the child's dummy in laudanum so the child slept and so the mother could carry on working without interuption thankfully that practice has stopped though I do wonder what the reaction might have been had the mother checked and found the child dead not criminal as laudanum was freely available then and not restricted to medically qualified folk Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
