Thirsty Lizard 3,158 Posted February 16, 2019 All the penalties we've taken this season we've hit low. Some along the ground and others a few inches/a couple of feet off the floor. All relatively easy for the goalie to save if he goes the right way. There's obviously a danger of hitting it over the bar if you go high, but get it high and on target and hit it with pace and the goalie's never going to save it. See Billy Sharp penalty against us. daly 501 Posted February 16, 2019 Lets hope all these misses don't make a difference at the end of season goal difference between automatic promotion and the playoffs
alex_ncfc 662 Posted February 16, 2019 I think we need to keep the same spot kick taker, rather than chop and change - Pukki was on a hattrick today, for example, he can't miss them every time.
Kanadyan Kanary 121 Posted February 16, 2019 Go hard! Put your fut through it - they have all been mamby pamby side foots with a short run up or stuttered step. When they practice they need to let the keepers know which we they are going to hit it and then try and beat them.

Farke said this in his pre match press stuff. Vrancic is first choice if he's playing.
Capt. Pants 4,225 Posted February 16, 2019 So who's next on the list? Hernandez or Buendia I suppose.
Miss Demeanor 67 Posted February 16, 2019 I'm with Kanadyan, just put your boot through it either side, if the keeper gets a hand on it it still stands a chance of going in with the momentum!!
ricardo 7,381 Posted February 16, 2019 I don't care how hard, just beat the keeper. Neil Adams always had the accuracy to find the corner while Ted Mac just sent the keeper the wrong way. No professional team should be missing six out of seven.
Norfolk Mustard 94 Posted February 16, 2019 Whether high or low, pick a corner and hit it firmly with full intent to score; Alan Shearer is a fine example...
Fiery Zac 1,066 Posted February 16, 2019 Holty works at the club. Get him to show them how it’s done. After Wes missed one too many, the first holty took he walloped it into the top corner....and then again.....and then again. It was a shock when he missed one. CDMullins 436 Posted February 16, 2019 Strange deision to let Kenny take it today; Not only would it have completed Teemu's hatrick but it was a no lose situation; If he scores he gains more confidence for the next one, if he misses the games still won. God forbid we end up in a penalty shoot out in a playoff final.
It's Character Forming 1,160 Posted February 16, 2019 Farke has said he’d decided on McLean before the game, he scored 15/15 at Aberdeen apparently. Farke was tempted to try to change to Teemu for the hat trick but decided it would undermine his confidence.
sonyc 5,509 Posted February 16, 2019 I wonder if we get another penalty given, Denis could be sent on just to take it. As a kind of specialist😉 He used to score for Paderborn.
AJ 1,218 Posted February 16, 2019 Should have been Pukki all day long! Nevermind, once again it hasn't cost us any points thankfully
......and Smith must score. 1,341 Posted February 17, 2019 (edited) Luckily all these penalty misses haven't cost us in terms of points this season but another three or four goals in the GD table would have been nice. I doubt out fate this year will come down to GD but if it does..... Edited February 17, 2019 by ......and Smith must score.
Grando 260 Posted February 17, 2019 The miss at home to WBA probably did... But who knows.
Coneys Knee 952 Posted February 17, 2019 Neil Adams still works for us doesn’t he? A little overtime perhaps for some penalty coaching? seriously though this isn’t about an ability to strike a ball into the net, this has become psychological for the team. Perhaps a bit of time with a sports psychologist or similar I dunno. Or maybe we’ve just simply been unlucky
CDMullins 436 Posted February 17, 2019 Dunno what all the fuss is about, its easy...
pete 318 Posted February 17, 2019 How Kenny M scored 15 out of 15 using the skills he showed yesterday is not realistic, certainly the worst of the 7 penalties taken to date, possibly worst ever seen. You could tell by the body language Vrancic apart (Wigan) there is no confidence I any player. Giving the job to someone not scared to give it some welly who has no reputation to uphold might reap rewards I'm thinking Zimm or Ben G they must be in the rotation, placement has not worked out well.
