lucky green trainers 0 Posted December 5, 2005 I remember city playing derby at the old baseball ground in the FA cupin mid 80''s i believe and playing exactly as they did onsaturday. I think city were top flight and derby 2nd div, anywayexpectations were high and city were awful - just like onsaturday. they never got in the game 20 odd years ago and derbywon it easy. Maverick 0 Posted December 5, 2005 Remember it well , mate.Was only talking about it the other day on the way up to the dismal showing on Saturday.As I recall , Paul Haylock had an absolute ''mare and Bobby Davison scored 2 for them with Deehan replying for us in the last minute.It was yet another bottle job against a team in a lower division than us and as I remember we took about 10,000 fans that day and were subjected to a 1 mile hike around some of the grottiest terrace streets in Derby just to get in.Cant remember it being anywhere near as bad a performance as this week though... GJD 0 Posted December 5, 2005 Remember that game well. Paul Haylock had a nightmare that day, well he had quite a few if I remember well? Masses of Norwich fans there and there was a little in-fighting that day as well in our section. One young eighties face at the time got into a fight with some huge middle age Norwich fan and came off far the worse. Think he got arrested later that game, or was at least escorted out of the ground.
