Ipswich going to complain

The wild crunching tackle which provoked the handbags should have received a red. Perhaps Lambert might like to comment on the merits of that.

He did, he said it was a nothing tackle 🙂

This is gold.

What an inspiring leader! They probably love that down South - pathetic comments, from a pathetic manager, at a pathetic club, after yet another pathetic defeat.

No, pretty much everyone who has commented so far thinks he's an idiot for doing so.

Unfortunately the tackle was punished so don;t think the FA can do much about it. The worst tackle was Harrison on Buendia which definitely should have been a red. Probably the one person who should be most worried about retrospective action if the FA look at the videos/pictures is Chambers both for his **** offender behaviour and the way he first wades in.

Unfortunately Lambert seems to have formed the view that in the continued absence of winning any points on the pitch the Norwich hating hard man act is the way to go to win favour with their support.

If they want video evidence about the steward then it is quite clear from the footage - the stewards were peace keeping until hands were laid on - and that was done by Lambert, poking his finger into Domogolla's chest and then with a push on Ed Wooten - then the stewards stepped in to prevent him doing anything more.

So in any neutral view the safety officer involved did exactly the right thing - he stepped in at the first sign of physical contact  which is quite clear was perpetrated by Lambert.

The club highlights don't show the full incident, but this one does, around 1.38m......

Little did we know that painting the away dressing room pink to unsettle our opponents would have such an influence on the manager.

I thought pink was supposed to have a calming influence? :classic_tongue:

You should see him when he's just come out of a yellow dressing room....................................

The fourth official, Andy Woolmer, was right there throughout the entire incident, and his evidence will be crucial. I have a feeling that  the general perception of a mistake being made when Domogalla was carded (rather than Wooten), could be wrong; Domogalla did get involved, certainly very vocally, at one point, and Woolmer's close quarters account in the ref's ear at the time would almost certainly have determined who received cards.

Considering all the Ipswich/Lambert talk of fight and passion, it really is pathetic if they complain about a steward doing his job of restraining an angry man who completely lost his head.

This is right. If it was a fan pushing and shoving and spoiling for a fight then I would expect the steward to do exactly what he did and intervene. Why Lambert thinks he can get away with behavior like that and then complain that the steward restrained him beggars belief. He must know this and is looking for a way of deflecting the blame onto someone else. Someone who can't answer back!

Actually looks like the steward falls out of the melee, almost over, and as a consequence moves Lambert back. If that’s the moment Lambert is claiming he was pushed, it’s just more delusion.

Get over yourself Paul. Focus on sorting your career out, it’s been floundering for a while.

I admired Lambert when he was here and indeed since. His positions since he was with us have all been appointments at clubs already in trouble and he has not been able to progress then in the short periods he has been allowed. Many say that the loss of his back room has not helped, I would not know. My opinion of him did not alter when he joined Ipswich. He wanted a job and they had one, why would he not take it, after all he clearly had no allegiance to us after his manner of leaving.

But after Sunday, my admiration for him is non-existent, his behaviour in the build-up week, during the game of course and in the days since, has been thoroughly reprehensible. And it is getting worse by the day. Today he has announced that he was approached by our keeper-coach and challenged to a fight. It has taken him two days to come up with that one, no mention of it in all the lengthy interviews on Sunday and Monday. He is desperate to keep his job next season and his crying to the Ipswich supporters (and Evans) is stomach churning.

PL Pride of East Anglia  Colchester  then Norwich then Ipswich then Stowmarket ?????

This is priceless.

After the match he claimed someone came into his technical area, but the footage clearly shows all the action taking place to the left of the players' tunnel, in-front of the Norwich bench. Nor did anyone run 30 yards anywhere before he kicked off - there wasn't time.

I'd say that he needs to be careful, as he is clearly deluded, and what he says can be construed as lying, so surely he is guilty of bringing the game into disrepute?

Classless.

Perhaps he’d like to comment about the tackling on our players, should have been two maybe three red cards, the one on Emi was a career ending one.

Wouldn’t worry about him. Our paths will never cross with him again. His career is pretty much over.

Lambert makes himself look more stupid by the day.

Lies and ****. Still he will be sacked (again) soon.

No way will he admit that bad tackle started the whole thing off. The only winners from all this will be the FA who will put a few more thousand in their kitty.

He's not the full ticket is he really. Not a Messiah at all, not even a naughty boy, just a bit sad.

It’s all a bit strange - you’d have thought most managers/clubs would be trying to downplay/calm things rather than inflame them, but Lambert seems to want to “show off” somehow.  Unfortunately he and they come across as a bit pathetic and even the more stupid binner supporters can see through it.

What a way to trash a legend.

Couldn't have looked more of a **** if he'd kicked Delia 's mums walking stick away.

Agreed, it was a bit like discovering your favourite uncle pre Christmas lunch - with his c*** inside the Christmas turkey!!

Latest from the BBC tonight...

Nolan was booked, but in the aftermath former Norwich manager Lambert had to be restrained by two big boys wearing the gilet jaunes and a police officer before referee Peter Bankes dismissed him and Domogalla.

Lambert, 12,  watched the second half of his side's 3-0 defeat from the stands at Carrow Road.

We don't need to get involved in counter claims. Probably best to let the FA watch the video and decide for themselves. I have no confidence in the FA getting it right whatever we do.

Farke will just wink and get on with the business of promotion. No distractions needed 😉

Personally I think it would have been better if DF had not made the comment he did post-match about not having any issue with how "95% of the Ipswich staff" behaved. He should simply have made no comment and left the speaking to his right eye.
