Morris and Thompson out for rest of season

Recommended Posts

Morris has an ankle ligament injury from the tackle received in the U23 game; Thompson has a knee problem & is out for 10 weeks.

:classic_sad: Devastating for both if correct.

Feel really sorry for Thompson, poor guy just can't catch some good luck. Hopefully next season he can make an impact or I fear his chances here will be all but over

Shame for them both. However the two of them seem to have a great attitude which serves them well.

Louis signed for 4 years a couple months ago so hopefully he'll be back next season and beyond.

Yes, VW, plus Klose, Tettey and Leitner likely to be fit and available for Ipswich.

Farke mentioned cover for wide areas in the press conference, plus of course Morris and Thompson are homegrown, so we're down to the bare bones on those numbers now.  I can see Aston Oxborough featuring more regularly on the bench.

Horrid news for Carlton and Louis, but news on the out-and-out first teamers was much better, sounds like we should be back to full strength for the Ippo game.  Can’t help but think we might need to bring someone in if only to cope with the homegrown rule unless there’s someone in the u-18/23s to step-up.

Young Thompson has had a careers worth of bad luck already. Hope it changes for him soon.

That guy West Brom had was pretty good if we’re looking at a loan!

There must be a couple of PL possibles but the issue is them getting game-time.

Shame for both but in particular Thompson - he seems to have enough to be a regular at this level but the long periods of not playing is going to catch up and effect his development.

Apparently looking to bring in a wide man, possibly on loan, any names come to mind ?

Wonder if Roland Aarons (Max’s cousin) is someone the club might look at - was on loan in the Czech Republic until December.

Other than that Wilcock at Arsenal could be good, Emile Smith-Rowe would be brilliant, although probably a bit of a reach.  Curtis Jones at Liverpool could be a possibility. Ian Povenda would be a good addition, but probably hard to get out of Man City, even on loan. There will be many more around I’m sure, those are the players that came to mind first.

Clubs are a bit more relaxed about loan deals in January so some guys who weren’t available in the summer might be now. Norwich were really interested in Woodburn in the summer and he is available again after leaving Sheff U. He’s not really a wide player, but then neither is Cantwell.

Tragic for Thompson, if we're promoted it's unlikely that he will get his chance here, by the time he's up to speed, we will have made other choices.

As for Morris, he might need to go out on loan again to get games, another one who's had no luck.
