Not good news on Tettey or Klose, almost certainly will miss the Leeds game, possibly Ipswich, with Timm out for some time should he need surgery. Damn, not good news at all.

Yet more injuries, time for Godfrey in midfield ?

No. He's a centre back.

Tettey out for three weeks, and Klose seeing a specialist in Switzerland - he might need an operation that would keep him out for six weeks. Thompson, McLean and Trybull all mooted as potential replacements for Tettey.

Lewis, Buendia, Stiepermann and Hanley all fit and available.

With Klose out for a while too I highly doubt it. It'll be Tom Trybull or Kenny McLean.

I'd worry for a midfield of McLean and Vrancic protecting the back 4.....and like the above poster would rather see Godfrey covering the ground in front of the back 4 instead of Trybull, who I question how much of a screen he can offer defensively

Thompson should be back to fitness soon too.

Thompson is already back. Was on the bench against WBA 👍

Farke didn't mention him as an option in midfield though, so perhaps not quite up to speed to get a start.

Klose's injury sounds like a longer term one, suggesting an op is likely to mean he probably needs one.  with him, Tettey and Leitner out, that's 3 big players missing.

Thompson might be forced into action a bit sooner than we'd like.

Mmm, swings and roundabouts on the injury front. Normal for this time of the season I suppose.

Scott McTominay is hoping to be out on loan.........

It could certainly be an opportunity to get someone in on loan, Timm would be a big miss and with games coming thick and fast any setback could be costly.

Equally, if we find we manage without Timm, that could affect whether we try and persuade him to stay.

Are there any experienced centre backs available (presumably on loan) ready to fit straight into the team, I wonder? Or defensive midfielders come to that?

Tettey and Klose are key players for us. So this could be a real problem.

I suppose it's a chance for the likes of Trybull, Godfrey and Hanley to prove their worth.

Not good news but we will definitely see how good we are or can be when others step in. We have plenty of cover at CB and with Thompson fit, we have options in the middle.

What's wrong with what we've got?

Zimbo and Godfrey is a perfectly reliable CB partnership, however the loss of Tettey is more concerning. I think Thompson is the most natural replacement, but if Trybull can get back to his performances of early last season he could do the job okay. Four points from the next two home games, defeat at Elland Road, then beat the filth and we'd still be there or thereabouts with everyone fit again (except possibly Tettey).

If Kloser is out for a couple of months as Is being suggested then we can't rely on just three centre backs for such a lengthy time. Lose one more and the whole season could be at risk.

Is Ragett still available to be recalled, if we’re desperate?

Yeah, get Raggett back for the 1p5wich game, he's got unfinished business with Chambers.

Nothing wrong with what we've got in central defence, but another injury in that position and we're left without cover. And I'm not convinced Trybull is a really like-for-like replacement for Tettey (and, added to that, Leitner is still out). With Timm out it also means that we can't afford Godfrey to move forward into midfield (not that he's played there this year).

So, in short, nothing wrong with what we have, obviously, as we're third in the league. But if these injuries look like persisting then I think we're a knock or two away from being up the proverbial creek.

Frustrating and could potentially derail our promotion bid but on the other hand this is what a squad is for and what a terrific opportunity for other players to come in and make an impact. Players like Hanley, McLean, Thompson, Trybull etc haven’t played much for various reasons but now have the chance to establish themselves for the rest of the season. They should be champing at the bit.
