lucky green trainers 0 Posted December 4, 2005 How about old city favourite joe royale for manager? Ex city, he''s got ipswich playing goodpassing footy, probably frustrated by average players now at the club -at least we''ve still got some decent players he could work with. onlylives down the road, says ipswich will be his last club, but moneytalks and he would walk. huck tastic
Bryan Hamilton could turn this around...
0 Posted December 5, 2005 Royle vs Worthington?A no-brainer?He''s working with a squad on a fraction of our wage budget, without any money to bring in players, and having lost 5 of his first team for nothing in the summer. They have also been selling their best players to service an enormous debt for a number of years, and there is no prospect of this situation changing for the better; indeed they recently announced further losses ...They are still above us in the leagueHow many points would Worthington''s Ipswich have under the above circumstances? (An interesting experiment...)Sheepshanks was actually on Radio 5 yesterday, talking about the enormous advantage of the parachute payment (£7m) to clubs coming down for their first 2 seasons...that also puts this mess into stark perspective...we also, I believe, have the most season tickets in the divisionI don''t like Ipswich or Royle particularly, but I would prefer him to Worthington on the simple grounds that he at least knows what he is doing... Robbo007 0 Posted December 5, 2005 I would argue against him being a "bloody good manager".He is one of the biggest yo-yo managers around! If he took over we''d probably have 2 relegations and a cup final. To be fair, Ipswich should have gone up last year with the team they had
Intenso 0 Posted December 5, 2005 Surely Ipswich had the advantage of the parachute payment and still managed to lose £3.5m. How many games have Joe Royle''s Ipswich won against Nigel Worthington''s Norwich ?

lucky green trainers 0 Posted December 6, 2005 Yeah i get the chicken royale joke. anyway, what i''m saying is joeroyle knows how to get quality players playing attractive football.True, they bottled it against the hammers at home in the playoffs, butso did birmingham last night and city at fulham debacle.Anyone with proven experince of working well with quality players woulddo for me, at least while we can afford them. Royle would beideal, because he''d probably only want 18 month contract and by then ifwe weren''t in the prem we''d have to sell our best players anyway.
